A: Watch the brushes while it is on then keep watching as you shut it off. I thought mine were not moving then realized they just move so fast they appear as if they aren't moving. Hope that's all it is!

A: This is my favorite carpet cleaner ever! I've always used a mixture of either Mrs. Meyers, or Mrs. Meyers and 1/4 cup bleach (never bleaches my carpet, only santizes it) and I've used even laudry soap and bleach (small amounts of each) and have had exceptional results. I think they want you to use the Hoover brand cleaners for obvious reasons, but I've always used other methods when I ran out of the cleaner that comes with the machine. If your uneasy about the bleach mixture try a little on a small patch first. But I've always put about a 1/4 cup in my full water tank to sanitize my carpet. Love it.

Watch out for the carpet fuzz
The machine works well and I like the dry only feature. However, it doesn’t appear there is a rinse option and the rollers are too spiky. They pull pieces of carpet up and a lot of fuzz was stuck in the plastic part at the front.

Can’t ever get it back together so it sucks up the water. Only dumps it. With all the bad comments how does it get a 4.5 star rating.

This is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Hoover will do anything to find a way to void a warranty on a product they know is not good quality. I will never purchase another Hoover product and encourage you to stay away from this one. I had the product for less than 2 years and the motor completely went out and Hoover refuses to repair. Definitely take your hard earned money elsewhere, I recommend Bissell!

Leaks everywhere!
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT unless you are cleaning your carpet or upholstery in a pool! We have used ours three times and the past two times it has leaks all over the floor. It leaks half the reservoir tank which is a huge mess. I have search google and checked all the corrections…still leaks. I have searched reddit and apparently this a common problem and no one has found a solution. Please save yourself the money and get a product that will not make your living room look like a flash flood!

This worked great on our carpet. Light carpet with traffic stains. I am very impressed. Easy to use. I wish I had this sooner. I have a smaller non Hoover machine that was not near as good.

This was the first carpet cleaner I’ve ever used, but I read the manual, followed the instructions and the results were great! We never wear shoes in our house but I was surprised by how much dirt still came out of the carpets! I did a wash, a rinse and used the “dry only” option at the end, and the carpets dried very quickly! The only downside is that when I first opened the box, a spring had come off of one of the pieces and it took me a little bit to figure out how to put it back on. Once I did, though, everything else was smooth sailing. Overall, I love this carpet cleaner!

Carpet Cleaner model FH52000G broken belt
The small belt to the brush from the motor broke so the brushes will not turn on carpet. sounds like gears stripping, upon inspection the toothed side of the belt broke so the brush wheels stop and go when the broken spot of the 3/16 inch wide belt skips over the brush gears. Trying to order new replacement belt. Cleaner model # FH52000G serial number VN10.0 . Can not find the belt on line// Can't fix. Makes the unit useless

Cheaply made but expensive - does the job so far
I haven’t had any problems with it - nor have I had it very long. It seems to do the job pretty well though it’s not as easy for me to use as I’d hoped. It’s a bit difficult for me to get down to change the rollers, and I feel the machine could be easily broken because of all the plastic parts. It does not feel nearly as durable as the old (much heavier) Hoover I’ve had for many years. Hopefully Hoover,‘s quality hasn’t changed and this Hoover, will also last for a long time. I am hopeful.

Not happy
I liked the machine when it worked. However we bought this April of 2025 and I already need to spend money on replacement parts. The front floor plastic piece is cheaply made and broke. I also see this is a common problem for this particular machine. I also need to replace an end cap for a brush roll. With Hoover being such an old household name I expected way more from a product. Very disappointing.

10 months and stopped working
Used only 5 times in 10 months and machine stopped working. The bearing that rotates one of the brushes is frozen and once we took apart, realized there are some fundamental design flaws. Would not recommend!
