Q: What is with the formula change? It is impossible to get off and is drying out my lashes. I’ve been buying this for 25 years and am so sad to find a new mascara. It was perfect before!!

    Leave a Good Thing Alone

    I am 69 years old and have use Voluminous mascara as long as I can remember. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with the last 2 or 3 I purchased until I noticed "24 Hour Wear" on the packaging. I don' t wear my make up for 24 hours. I don't need it to hold up that long. I wash my makeup off religiously every evening. The mascara is resistant to my usual removal methods whether with a wash cloth in the shower or make up remover at the sink. It fleks and flakes and ends up all over my face, in my eyebrows and hairline. I am so disappointed. You know the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"? Try that logic how about.

    NOT GOOD

    I really wasted my money on this stuff...it is NOT thin enough to spread across lashes, it skips lashes due to extreme thickness and this is a brand new tube! It causes all my lashes to curl in the ends which makes them look short and like little question marks.

    Allergic Reaction

    I have us Voluminous curved brush mascara for over 20 years. Sadly I had to stop using it this June - each time I used the mascara my eyes would become irritated, itchy, watery and become extremely swollen. Initally I thought the reaction was due to an old tube, so I tried a new tube even different colors (black, brown and burgundy) all resulting in the same allergic reaction. I went makeup free during the summer to give my eyes a break and tried a new tube for the first day of school and ended the school day with red swollen eyes. I am so disappointed that I can no longer use Voluminous mascara.

    Not the same anymore

    I’ve been using this mascara for over 20 years and the last 2 tubes have been horrible. The first bad tube I thought was a fluke, maybe an old batch or something. But then I opened another fresh tube and had the same problems - already dry, clumping, doesn’t build anymore, just not the same. I’m sadly going to have to move on. ☹️

    Basically waterproof anymore

    I’ve been using the voluminous mascara for close to 30 years. I recommend to everyone and always have… until recently It’s completely different! Starts burning my eyes mid day and ITS BASICALLY WATERPROOF now… if I wanted waterproof then I’d buy waterproof… I want the original voluminous mascara back! I’m shopping new mascaras for the first time in almost 30 years… WHY WOULD YOU CHANGE such a great product?

    An absolute beast to remove--you will lose lashes!

    I was using this product religiously for awhile and now I've the past several months it has distinctly changed to wear it no longer washes off with warm soapy water...and barely responds to micellar water or makeup cleaner wipes designed for waterproof mascara! It has been a nightmare trying to get it off my lashes and I. The process I lost many of them which is heartbreaking and also a little engaging. I never buy waterproof mascara for this very reason...I end up with half the lashes I started with! You can't market this formula anymore as being washable! It's a lie and dangerous!

    I dont recommend it ! It irritates, stings

    I loved the burgundy color but the only complaint that i have is that it irritated my eye and i had it for several days .. i had to rub tea tree wipes so it can return to normal

    wanted to love this mascara but didnt. it made my lashes so clumpy and by the end of the day you couldn't even tell I put mascara on. it all flaked off. wouldn't recommend.

    Do not recommend

    This mascara is a very wet formula. It makes my lashes fall after curling, it takes forever to dry. It doesn’t create any volume, just clumps my lashes together but not even in a cute way, they look thin and boneless! No length no volume just less than desirable results.

    Huge disappointment.

    I've used colored mascara for a few years now so I thought I'd try these 2 colors. What a disappointment! Not only are the colors not apparent on my lashes (still look black), the formula is highly irritating to my eyes, pretty clumpy and took 5 or 6 tries to fully remove, which caused further irritation. I should have read the reviews before purchasing. I expected better from L'oreal.

    The formula has good staying power and holds my lashes well. Unfortunately, too much product collects on the brush, making application messy and causing clumps. Because of that, I won't be purchasing it again.

    Great for Oily Skin

    I’ve tried every mascara under the sun last 15 years. It has been hard to find one but does not smear with my oily skin or flake, and does not irritate my eyes. This girl is perfect and stays on all day. I just wish they would make a brown waterproof version! With more natural eyelashes trending, the black brown is a little too dark for my complexion.

    Not green

    Its good if you want a normal mascara, but it’s not what I was buying it for. There is almost no green pigment and it looks just like a regular mascara.

    Terrible formula change

    I loved this mascara before the formula change (when it was 5X the volume, not 15X the volume). Now it is goopy, has a terrible odor, and is simply not the same mascara at all! Why did you change a product that people loved before! Please change it back. It seems the consensus is that the formula change is a failure. Will not buy this new product again.

    From Lil to Lengthy with Loreal!

    I am very fair with little to no eyelashes, but this mascara continues to amaze me. It gives me such volume and length. My aunt thought I had false eyelashes they looked so good! See for yourself!

    I have straight thin lashes and got this in hopes to help with the curl. It was hard for me to apply with bigger brush and just made them straight but I did curl them again after which improved it a bit. First pic is no lash curler and second is with it. Not sure if I would get it again.
