Horrible
Not like other kits I've used. Not usre if someone messed with it before shipping? Developer cream seemed dry. This kit had 2 envelopes of lightener in it. I used one envelope and the cream mixed to a putty in it. Tried to put it on my hair and I had to wash it out immediately. Burned my skin. A bottle of cream for afterwards. Just didn't seem like everything was there. NOT RECOMMENDED

The Best Highlighting Kit Ever
This is the best at-home highlighting product I have found. I used to have my hair highlighted by a professional stylist, but then started doing it myself during the pandemic. I have naturally dark brown hair with reddish undertones and I use the Caramel shade. This product gives me exactly the results that I want and expect. You do have to make sure to carefully follow the instructions for mixing and applying. Also, be sure to leave the product on for the maximum amount of time. If your hair is partially gray or tends to turn brassy you may want to leave it on even longer. I really hope that L’Oreal never stops making this product!

Easy to use. I like to last stage, the toner rinse that you do not rinse out. Only problem is does not come in a container that can be saved. There is more product than just one use but wasted. Where to get the toner?

Great product, poor cap design
I am a former hairdresser and have been using this highlighting kit on my own hair for years, (since I changed careers). I always use the one for dramatic highlights rather than the caramel, which I knew would come up much darker than I wanted and likely look orange on my hair. I have always had excellent results and never have any damage or hair breakage. However, I have noticed that the circled holes have gone from dark blue, to light blue, and most recently in my last kit, they were such a light gray that they were barely visible. in addition, the pre- punched holes in the top layer of the cap weren't in the center or even in the circled holes at all. I have had to have my hairdresser friend assist me using this product for a while now because of the lighter circled holes, and this time with the faint circles and the offset holes, it was even a challenge for her. Please, please, please go back to the dark blue or black circles, so I can continue using my favorite highlighting product!

Color nowhere near caramel
I've used La Petite for years and always get a warm caramel colored highlight. Recently, it's bee hard to find but I saw Frost and Design for longer hair, ALSO claiming to give caramel highlights. Other than the edition of a final rinse, they appear to be the same. They ARE NOT THE SAME. There is no warmth at all to these highlights and they look ash gray. I'm stuck with it because I'm not subjecting my hair to re-do. Are you d/c'ing LaPetite? Because it was perfect. I'll not use this product again.

I bought this to get subtle highlights after consulting with someone on here as the product I normally use has been discontinued. After the highlights my hair was orange, i used the shampoo and toning now it is brassy and fried the ends of my hair.

Good, Needs better clarification on mix directions
Great Blonde Highlighting/Frosting Kit Product! Except the directions are quite confusing when it comes to the wording of the highlighting mixture process. The package comes with a 3.5 oz Crème Developer, a Tube of Frosting Protective Crème and Two Packages of Lightening Powder. The directions say to mix all ingredients into a highlighting application mixture. Yet they don’t specify whether or not to use both packages of the Lightening Powder (which the Kit/Box comes with Two). It’s very confusing to a new hair frosting consumer. I learned that “YES”, both of the (two) lightening powder packets are to be used to add to the mixture before application. I wish they’d be more specific with the directions! It’s a great product and I believe the directions can be very vague and confusing! I hope this helps someone else with the same question I had to research to find the correct answer to solve! Worked great. A couple of notes from my experience..... The highlights were looking a little orange. I rinsed out a few strands to check it. Yep. It was orange. So I left it on a little longer. Checking periodically. It got better with time. Also, be sure to use the products for the intended purpose. i.e. Make sure you mix the powder with the creme developer that comes in a bottle and is liquid. Do not mix the powder with anything that is pasty and comes in a tube. Like the frosting protective creme for example. My hair isn't super long. I used one packet and half the bottle of creme developer. And I took care during the application process. I did use the cap. The whole entire process took some time. But I expected it to. It got a little boring and i was tempted to rush through it. But didnt want to look like a clown when it was done. It turned out great. Hair is not damaged.

UNFORTUNATELY this time, instead of applying the toning rinse while in the shower with my hair mostly wet, like I normally do, I towel dried my hair a little more and followed the directions to start at the hairline and leave the toning rinse in. Now, my bangs and the lighter portions of my hair are blue. Be careful!!!!! (side note, tried to do a review earlier and I couldn't upload an image, so I'm trying again.)

Frosting
Excellent product. I recently went from dark brown to bleached platinum blonde and it's not an easy transition for an amateur. I was left with a slight orangey hue that needed highlighting immediately. I simply could not wait 6 weeks to try something. I needed immediate rescue. This frost design kit was terrific! The product mixes into an easy-to-use "whipped" solution that makes it smooth to apply all over of your hair. Best part, it actually made my hair more silky . . . Not sure how, but it did! The directions are very specific, so take your time and follow the steps when creating the mix. P.S. I did not use the cap. Just remember if you use without cap to focus on the tips of your hair only.

The worst frosting kit!
Worst hair coloring product ever!!!!! Wish I could give it zero stars! Used this for the first time and my hair was completely bright orange! I usually use Clairol frosting kits and will go back to using Clairol. I have highlighted my hair for almost 40 years and NEVER had an experience like this one! I bought 2 kits unfortunately and threw the second kit in the garbage unopened. What a waste of money and the time I had to put in to correct the color was unbelievable. A big NO to Frost & Design for me!!
