SquareTrade sells extended protection to cover above and beyond what your manufacturer covers. Since SquareTrade is an extended warranty, any existing warranty from a seller or manufacturer does take precedent over the SquareTrade warranty.     Who protects us from the protection plan?

    Allstate protection plan is most definitely a scam. They make it so hard for you to cancel the policy even if you don't have the product. I have been trying for days to contact someone, you can't even call. Target has the product back and have my refunded the money. I would not get the warranty from Allstate. Buyer beware.

    Allstate Protection Plan is a scam.

    I’ve been waiting for 3 months for a replacement. They offered me a handheld replacement which is not the value or comparable of my carpet cleaner I bought. Horrible service. Impossible to get in contact with anyone. Not worth a penny.

    Charges for a year of coverage you don't get

    I tried to file a claim today and Allstate’s Square Trade coverage told me I couldn’t file a claim without contacting the manufacturer for service first because the manufacturer might still be able to cover the problem under a warranty for the first year. For me, the whole point in buying this coverage was to make life simple and easy if something didn’t work like it should. Instead, I’m going to have to work with the manufacturer for anything that happens in the first year, even though Allstate is charging me for coverage for that year anyway.
