Q: Does this work with the older model as far as adding cameras? Can I still use my old camera and add this in addition?

A: Unfortunately not. The DXR-8 PRO is using a different platform and can't work with the DXR-8 addon camera.

A: You can replace the battery by opening the battery compartment on the back of the monitor unit, disconnecting the old battery, and connecting a new one. Replacement batteries are available on the Infant Optics website or through authorized retailers.

Q: Does the camera work without being plugged into the wall? The monitor is charged and ready to go but the camera won’t work/turn on unless I have it plugged up. I thought this entire set was wireless.

I used this camera/monitor for both my kids. I love it. Also, I am extremely impressed w the company’s customer service. When I had an issue, not only did customer service end up sending me a new camera, they followed up with me via email to ask if the issue had been resolved and always responded promptly and helpfully. Highly, highly recommend!

Camera is simple, easy to use and the image is great but their customer service is even greater! I was having an issue with the sound on my monitor so I contacted customer support and Dominic V. tried to help me trouble shoot. When none of that worked long term we looked into my 12 month warranty. This was a gift off of my registry just over a year ago which meant I technically wasn’t eligible but Dominic V. went above and beyond and still honored my warranty and shipped me a replacement asap. I am very grateful!

We love this monitor. The camera and monitor screen work great. Our camera did stop working (not sure why) so I contacted customer service and they responded very quickly and sent a replacement camera right away after I just provided the serial number and some other information. The new camera was shipped with next day shipping and I just had to mail back the old camera. It was a very quick and an easy process. We were relieved to not have to go without a monitor for long or buy a replacement!

We have been using this monitor for about a year and a half and it will no longer turn on. I spent an additional $20 to order a new battery which has not solved the issue. Really frustrating to be dealing with this at a $200 price point.

I started out loving this product. I've had it for 8 months and the screen randomly stopped working. It was not dropped and there were no warning signs leading up to this. We only use the monitor a few hours a day for naps, as baby room shares and we don't use the monitor overnight. All of that to say, the screen should not have quit after 8 months. The company is rude and unhelpful. The product was received as a gift (as many baby products are) and I cannot provide a receipt. For $200, they should stand behind their product. Apart from the screen, the battery never lasts very long. It requires constant charging.

I have mostly loved this monitor since buying it about 9 months ago. The picture quality is great. It comes with multiple lenses so if you set up the camera closer or further away from baby you can use the appropriate lens. My 2 complaints are: 1. the battery does not seem to be holding up the best - I need to charge it like every 2 days at this point and we only use it roughly 3-4 hours a day. 2. The volume on the monitor as well as the noise sensor randomly stopped working a few days ago. I did just reach out the customer service so hopefully they can help trouble shoot. 🤞🏼

I love this camera and monitor! It’s easy to set up and use. I actually had an issue with the monitor itself a few months after using it but I reached out to customer support and Kristine Z responded right away and was very helpful. They ended up just sending me a whole new monitor.

This monitor always died super fast and it now only lasts about 2 hours. It also makes a constant buzzing noise (even with the noise reduction feature off). This is extremely unfortunate because this is an expensive piece of equipment you'd hope to use for a second child too and it didn't even make it past a year.

Monitor stopped working 1.5 years into use, but customer service was able to walk us through a hard reset. And they gave us 50% off of a new monitor and battery. There is only a 1 year warranty so they cannot replace it for free.

Not worth the money to me. The pic is not very sharp. I’ve now switched between both lenses to see if one made a difference & don’t care for either. The battery life sucks. Doesn’t even go for twelve hours on a full charge. Even with not looking at it. That’s just on with a black screen. It doesn’t do any good to have a baby sleep 12 hours if that thing is going to do that awful low battery beep & wake you up while the baby is still sleeping lol. It does reach pretty far though which is why I gave it two stars. We go on a walk up & down the driveway after baby goes down & it reaches all the way to the road.

I absolutely love this monitor! We wanted a non wifi monitor for security reasons and this is the best! The camera quality and sound quality are amazing. The noise cancellation is my favorite feature. And their customer service is outstanding

It's a good camera but I have had mine for less than 2 years & it no longer holds a charge unless it's plugged in. It's only 1 year warranty, so there's nothing I can do about it now. Save your money & get something cheaper.

Don’t buy this product unless you intend to only get one year of use. I have had my product for about two years when it stopped holding a charge. I reached out to customer service who told me that after a year the warranty is up and they can’t help me. Despicable- I know most of us need the monitor for at least the first 3 years.

I’ve been using this monitor for a few weeks and love the photo clarity, and also that I can talk to my baby through a microphone! I had an issue with the handheld receiver malfunctioning and Emma was great in helping me troubleshoot and then sending a replacement when that didn’t work. Great customer service!

This monitor works really well! We added a second camera and it scans between the cameras. We had some issue with the temperature tracker on our second camera and Gladys from infant optics was able to send a replacement within 2 days. Loved the product and loved the customer service

It works superbly, and when the camera started having problems, customer service was phenomenal! They helped re-sync it and after a few more months when its microphone fully failed, they sent a replacement even a year out of warranty (your mileage may vary, of course).
