A: This makes 4 cups of cooked rice (2 cups of uncooked rice). Keep in mind this uses the rice cup standard which is 3/4 cup. If you ever lose your rice cup, just replace it with a standard 3/4 cup.

A: Of course you can cook porridge in this. The description even says it's a rice and grain cooker. I cook porridge (rolled oats) everyday in this and it comes out perfect every time.

A: Hello, Thank you for your question. Yes the inner pot is dishwasher safe. We do recommend washing on the top rack. As well, since the exterior of inner pot is bare aluminum. Most dishwashing detergents and the high heat from the dishwasher may discolor the pot. It would not affect the performance of the pot as it is a cosmetic issue if it happens. A: Hello, Thank you for your question on this unit. Typically, if the rice if overboiling there are a few trouble shoots to try. When measuring the rice you do want to use the cup that comes with the unit to measure rice. Fill to the brim and level off. Add the rice to the inner pot. You do want to rinse off any excess starch. Especially with white rice, as it has a lot of excess starch. You want to rinse it in the inner pot until the water is no longer opaque and cloudy. Depending on the type of rice it may take 3-4 rinses to clean off. Leave the rice in the inner pot and fill to the corresponding water line, i.e. 1 cup or rice fill to 1 cup line on side of inner pot. If you add water first it would be too much water for the rice. Also if you leave too much starch on the rice it will boil over similar to adding soap to a cup of water it would boil out of the unit. If too much starch or water is added it will brown the bottom of the and or come mushy from too much water.
