GE CYNC Outdoor Battery Powered Camera

The camera seems to be great when it works. Unfortunately it is only available to view the live stream or record about 40% of the time. The rest of the time it won't connect to wifi.

The worst camera ever. It would be great if when you open the app to see your live feed that it didn’t take 15 minutes to connect! We even put I wifi extender in our garage to boost connectivity. Did not help at all. The real time playback works, ONCE YOU CAN GET AN IMAGE TO SHOW UP ON THE APP. It should not take 10 to 15 minutes to load the camera. I have the newest iPhone a long with what I previously stated, WiFi extender not more than 20 ft from camera along with a hi speed business wifi account. It’s not my wifi. It’s the camera software. Too slow to be of any use on demand.

Horrible, I bought 2 battery ones thinking the 50% sale of deal was a great discount but little did I know that they always have this "sale". The tell should have been when I couldn't find 1 youtube review on these. I charged and connected, these are so spotty, even when it is near the wifi, it still doesn't catch most motions, even when set on high. It also, has no way to turn off, if I don't want them to record during the day or if I wanted to store them, you have to pull out the battery. Even more stupid is the schedule, I want to only record at night but it won't let you set a schedule from night to following day, it reads as error. you can only set a schedule for morning to night in same day. I don't need these to record during the day, I wanted to record at night when I am sleeping so these are not only junk and poorly made, poor connectivity, poor interface, these also don't do the one job even decently that they are suppose to do which is record.

Camera is great....when it works. I bought two and one connected okay but takes a while to boot up anytime I open the app and sometimes I have to take it down and pull the battery to reset it to get it to connect. The second camera won't read the QR code to connect to the app so it's a useless hunk of plastic.

Bought this to have on my cellar door.. charged the batteries for 2 days.. it chimes, but fails to connect.. guess I'll have it there as door frame ornament.

I bought two battery operated cync cameras and even purchased the solar panel as well. They both worked great but, at that time, I was having problems with my wifi. So, to sum my issue up, I ended up having to reset the cameras a few seperate times to get them to connect and both cameras ended up doing the exact same thing. The reset button went out so I could not reset the camera. This was VERY frustrating because I only had the cameras about a month. Overall...the cameras were great until mt issues arose.

I purchased this camera last week and it’s not living up to its full potential. The app is slow and the video rarely loads. It sends me a notification that there’s motion but it doesn’t record the video. I purchased space on the Cloud but obviously it was a waste of money. I checked my wifi and it’s strongish (85%) where it’s located. Tried to reach out for assistance with no support.

Last year I spotted people who don't live in my complex coming up onto my and my neighbor's patios at odd hours (think 4 am when most people are asleep, but I work a very early job so I was up and about), looking in windows, and generally snooping around and I just never felt very secure after that. All of us here know each other and keep an eye out, but it was still concerning. Now I can see who comes and goes throughout the day and night. It's also renter-friendly since I was able to mount it without damaging the apartment exterior. I'm thinking of getting the solar panel to keep the battery charged so that I don't need to climb a ladder every time it needs to be recharged. That's the only downside to it, but it's a very small one. I opted to get the Micro SD card vs paying to upload the video onto the cloud, but I may switch to that now that I know how much I like the camera and how it works. It was very easy to set up and is fairly unobtrusive. I hid mine behind some outdoor decor so it's not easy to spot if you don't know what you're looking for. Honestly, if you'd like a way to keep an eye on your place or blind spots around your home, this camera is a great option!

Currently I have it on my chain link fence and it’s staying in place with the magnet on the back of the camera. This allows me to move it wherever I like around the yard. The app works great and I get notifications on my phone when there is movement or a person. The picture quality is good and I’m pleased with how long the battery lasts. I really like the versatility this camera offers me.

Plus we rent so it's not like we could add in some expensive electrical wiring to make it happen. This battery powered outdoor security camera solved the problem. Got it all set up and can see in real time on my phone. Keep in mind if you have metered internet, this does use quite a bit of data. The night vision is not incognito like a trail camera but the hope is that any intruder would notice they're on camera and get scared off before doing anything stupid.

We decided to give the GE Cync Outdoor camera a try. Setup is extremely easy as the app walks you through every step. The battery came about 50% charged so make sure you charge the battery before you mount it. Mounting it was also simple and fool proof. The picture quality is great. You can either choose to pay for cloud storage which will store videos when motion is detected or you can purchase a micro SD card for storage. You do get 2 weeks of free storage. You can also connect the camera to your Alexa devices. We are very pleased with our camera and are now looking into other GE smart home devices.

The first option is to use the cloud storage that has a free trial with a monthly fee afterwards. The second option requires me to use a micro sd card. I am using the cloud storage and it's perfect.
