Game changer for my life

Alimama44 - 1 year ago, Verified purchaser
I have very heavy periods that impact my life significantly, as I need to change super plus tampons every 45 minutes and set alarms at night. I got a cup from an alternate brand (recommended for beginners) and it did help (empty every 3 hours during the day) but I could feel it and was in mild discomfort. I bought this as it was highly rated for comfort. I feel nothing when it is in and can go 2-4 hours on my heavy day without emptying.

Like them but not enough for heavy flow

I was pretty excited to try this out, I love the idea but it doesn't handle heavy flow very well. On my first couple of days, it fills up in a few hours and I end up having to empty it/clean it at work. I did get the kit for travel so that helps, but unfortunately I can't go anywhere close to 12 hours without emptying it.

Disappointing

I always leak when using this. It’s practically not even worth using. I have previously used the Diva cup brand so I was expecting this to act similarly if not the same but it doesn’t seem to function as well when inserting. It doesn’t pop open right away to do its job catching stuff, which leads to my second issue with this product. It will pop open later inside causing me to jump in pain. Throwing away and trying something else.
1 reply from Saalt team - 2 years ago
So sorry you are experiencing leaking with your cup! Because it is made of a softer silicone, it can take a few extra techniques to get the Soft Cup open. But once open, many find it to be the perfect fit! We would love to get you some tips or help you find a product that works better for your needs. If you are interested, you can reach our team at sayhey@saalt.com.

Life Changing!

Overall this is THE best menstrual product EVER. I’ve only used this brand and it’s my first menstrual cup purchase so I can’t compare to other brands, but I do know that using a menstrual cup is the best decision I ever made. Many reasons: comfort (no icky pads, or toxic tampons, it’s so much cleaner, no smell, swimming so much easier, I can wear any underwear no leaks, save money! ). I wish everyone and their mom knew about these. If this brand or size doesn’t work for you, find another! Seriously it’s such a game changer. Periods don’t have to be messy ! I can sleep at night NAKED! (Again so comfy). Now, there is a learning curve and you do need to be comfortable putting your fingers in your own body and there’s many videos and help along the way. For reference, I am 5’3” 145 lbs and gave birth 4 times. The small works great for me. Also, my periods are about 5-6 days long. Days 1-3 heaviest then light. Do it girl, you won’t regret this purchase !

Bad Cramps? Try this NOW!

Kate - 2 years ago, Verified purchaser
My cramps had gotten to the point where I would be counting down the minutes until I could take my next dose of Midol for about three days. Then the cramps would become tolerable, but I would still have discomfort to the degree I would barely sleep for two to three nights. Since using this, I haven't had to take one dose. I also haven't had the lower back pain I usually got. I'm not being dramatic when I call this life changing. One cavaet, make sure you read tips for removal before trying it for the first time! You can't just relax. You actually have to push down on it.

I had some pain with the regular-sized cup so I tried the smaller cups and they got lost (traumatic times trying to get them out). After buying this cup I realized my problem had been with the cup stiffness, not the length. I have a slight amount of pain with this cup, but it's worth it for no leaks and minimal overall waste. I like that it's easier to get out than the regular stiffness cup, but it is still a bit of a task to remove.

Went from a skeptic to a BELIVER

KEMom - 3 years ago, Verified purchaser
I truly can’t believe how much I love this cup. I was such a skeptic but couldn’t get over how many high reviews these cups received so I had to give it and try and see for myself. Bottom line..I LOVE it and I’ll NEVER EVER go back! I started researching organic/natural tampons/pads b/c I was SO disturbed by all the toxins and hormone disrupters in female products had. Menstrual cups kept popping up in my research and I was blown away with the high ratings/reviews. Honestly the thought of a cup was weird and really grossed me out but I was intrigued and couldn’t ignore the hype so I gave it a try. I was impressed on the first use but even more impressed after I used it a few times. Getting the hang of it does take a bit. Now I put it in and I even have to set a timer or I’ll forget the darn thing is in! It’s super comfortable (unless it’s not in right). In my opinion, it’s actually much cleaner than regular pads and tampons. I never need a panty liner. In fact, if it leeks, that’s how I know I didn’t get it in just right. I’m also very active and love to do really high impact workouts. This cup doesn’t move and I can’t feel it while working out. That was NEVER the case with tampons. This cup has truly been a game changer. Added bonus..all the money I will save not buying tampons and pads ever again!

Normally I hate period products in general majority of them suck and overall aren’t amazing at stopping leakage. This has changed the game for me way better than going through tampon after tampon if you have heavy flow!

I used a diva cup for 10+ years without issue and figured it was time for a new one. Decided to get this Saalt Soft and love it more than I did the diva. The softer material means less cramping and easier to insert/remove

Terribly uncomfortable

1 out of 5 stars
Auburn mom - 3 years ago
This is my second menstrual cup. The first one I bought is extremely easy to insert and comfortable to wear all day. Not this cup. It is a firmer silicone, painful to insert and much more difficult to remove as well. I just can't tolerate the uncomfortableness of it so I've used it maybe 2 times. And it's not like this is something you can return :-/

This cup doesn’t feel any more or less comfortable than any cup I’ve ever used, but it is just so difficult to get the cup to open up once you insert it because it is so flexible. Definitely would recommend a regular version over the soft version, especially if you’re a beginner.

I’ve been using a menstrual cup for a long time and this is my second salt cup. I loved my first, but this one is so soft and flexible it won’t unfold after insertion. My first was much firmer and I never had problems with getting it to open. I’m disappointed as this is useless to me and I will have to replace it.
1 reply from Saalt team - 3 years ago
Hi! We are so sorry you are having trouble getting your cup to open! Our Saalt Soft cups can take a little more troubleshooting to get it to fully open, but we have tons of tips to help get your cup to open a bit easier. As an experienced cup user, you probably know that many users find that tensing their pelvic muscles makes insertion very difficult. Relaxation is key! Try flipping your fold to face the floor when inserting. The front of our vaginal canal runs along our pubic bone where the back runs along more soft tissue. Flipping your fold to open towards soft tissue can help your cup open more easily. Lastly, gently press the vaginal wall away from the dent/fold creating more space for the cup to fully open. We hope this helps! Feel free to reach out to our Saalt Coaches at sayhey@saalt.com if you need any additional tips. 😊

I’ve been wanting to give this cups a try & this was my 1st time trying it. Let’s just say I FREAKING LOVE IT! Please understand you have to be patience when inserting it (it has that in the directions too). Their are 3 different ways of inserting it so you have to figure out what works best for you. I was skeptical because of some of the reviews but with getting the right size & taking my time (she’s delicate ya know :-) ) I can’t even tell that it’s in there! Proper seal will guarantee no leaks, if you have leaks it’s still folded, again reading the directions will help tremendously! Trust me.

Saalt Cup over everything!!!

I love this menstrual cup! Specifically the “soft” version is very flexible and easily conforms to your body. If you’re new to using cups or have attempted cups before without success, I suggest reading up on how they work before investing in one. There is a lot of education behind how to successfully use one and I think that could be the reason for the very few poor reviews this has. The Saalt website is great to help you decide which size you need by taking a quiz, showing you different shapes and positions to insert comfortably, how to adequately clean per insert/daily/per cycle, adjustments you can make to the stem of the cup, and the anatomy of the cup so you know the details behind how to make it work best for you. I personally have a high-located cervix, have had a baby, have obviously had intercourse, have a heavy menstrual flow, and have a long history of using tampons… so the “regular” size is best for me. I use this cup beginning to mid period. I do also have the “small” size, which does still work for my circumstances for mid to end period. I usually always wear a thin panty liner to compliment my cup for small leaks when it begins to become full, etc. I love this cup because it can be worn long term for up to 12 hrs day or night. It’s very comfortable and I don’t even notice it’s there. I highly recommend purchasing the Saalt Cup Menstrual Wash to go along with this. This cup is environment-friendly, can be used for up to 10 years with proper care, and saves you tons of money!!! I like how you can still wear a thong-styled panty along with this cup while on your period (look up thong-shaped panty liners!!) I personally like the dark-grey color of this cup because it hides stains, if any occur (which by the way is totally normal if it does occur and does not mean your cup is trash, it’s just pleasing to the eye if there aren’t any that are visible!!!)
