KitchenAid 28 oz Cold Brew Coffee Maker, KCM4212

Got this from our wedding registry a year and half ago and love it. Use it every week and clean after every use. but now it leaks all over our refrigerator. The plastic pieces don’t seem to screw down tight anymore.

Coffee is good. The spigot leaks. I thought it would break in and stop but it hasn't.

I got this from my employer's milestone anniversary catalogue and I'm glad I did because it's a really convenient way to make cold brew and a great addition to my coffee making arsenal. My daily go-to is an Aeropress, I use a french press for certain coffees (like Ka'u coffee) that benefit from that method, and I picked up a used Nespresso Vertuo machine for cheap and my wife uses it for her flavored coffee drinks and I'll use it if I'm lazy and need a quick cup at night, I don't feel compelled to get into the pour-over scene but I've always wanted to try cold brewing. The KitchenAid cold brew coffee maker is definitely an upscale option that I probably wouldn't have bought but now that I have it, I would totally replace it if one of my kids knocked it off the shelf in the refrigerator and it broke into a million pieces. It's definitely a different experience compared to brewing with hot water. You do have to use decent beans, though. It was so smooth and sweet with Peet's Coffee French Roast that I thought I could get away with Kirkland dark roast--NOPE. It's passable but why? I usually keep it in the fridge for those mornings when I'm running a little late so I use the cold brew concentrate to make an "Americano". It is great for iced coffee and I mean just with ice and a little water to top off the cup. I can see if you add a lot of milk, you might want to use the concentrate straight so this might not be the cold brew maker for you. Otherwise it's perfect. Oh, and like a lot of the other reviewers, my original model leaked after the second use but KitchenAid replaced it no questions and it's been leak free for almost a year now with nearly continuous use.

Bought 2 of these a while ago. Both Worked well for about one year until they started leaking! The spout now leaks when you turn it off on both. I tried deep cleaning and making sure everything was tight but the spouts still drips.I really liked this product but unfortunately cannot use it anymore.

Love this cold brewer in concept- looks great, can leave it on the counter- but there is a persistent leak at the bottom where the plastic drain meets the glass,no matter how much I tighten it, and it winds up leaking out completely. Great looks, poor design/construction for a pricey item.

I purchased this for my daughter for Christmas. It was great the first few months and then it started leaking all over my fridge. I did check the valve and it was closed but something was wrong with it. I’m really disappointed and so was my daughter.

This was gifted to me for my birthday and I was so excited. Really wanted to love it. It immediately began leaking all over the refrigerator. Despite the tap being fully in the closed position, it dripped constantly. I reached out to Kitchen Aid and to their credit, they sent me a replacement unit. Except that unit leaks worse than the first one. I just opened my fridge to find about half an inch of standing coffee in the vegetable drawer. I’m sick of cleaning up after this thing and of eating food that smells like coffee. Absolutely do not recommend.

My husband loved this until the valve started leaking coffee everywhere in the fridge. No mater how tight you turn the valve, it will still leak. Super bummed since the appliance it a little pricey.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this as a bridal shower gift a few months ago! I really like it. Haven't figured out the right ratio of grounds to water quite yet. The suggestions provided by kitchenaid require a food scale which i don't have but we're getting close with.

I usually don’t have super high expectations but it seems to leave some extra coffee through the filter as well as having a smaller capacity than I thought compared to a lot of competitor brands. When I’ve seen videos, looked at the instructions and such, it almost seems my filter lets through more than it should. I’ve tried it a handful of times now and I get the same results even with recommended use.

I just got this for my birthday and generally love Kitchenaid products. While it looks sturdy and seems well made, it immediately leaked coffee all over my fridge ruining some food. There's a slow drip at the bottom. For that reason I can't recommend this product and hope this is resolved.
