To clean your coffee maker, follow the instructions below: Daily Cleaning: Always unplug the coffeemaker and allow it to cool before cleaning. Remove the filter basket, permanent filter (not included on all models), decanter, and decanter lid and wash them in a solution of hot water and mild liquid soap. Never use abrasive cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive materials. Dishwasher top-rack safe parts: glass decanter and lid, filter basket, and permanent filter. The water filter disk is not dishwasher safe. Never immerse the coffeemaker itself in water, in any other liquid, or place it in the dishwasher. Decalcifying your Mr. Coffee® Coffeemaker: Minerals (calcium/limestone) found in water will leave deposits in your coffeemaker and will affect its performance. It’s recommended that you regularly remove these deposits by using Mr. Coffee® Cleaner or vinegar. 1. Follow package instructions to prepare one batch of MR. COFFEE® Cleaner. Pour the mixture into the water reservoir. Before decalcifying, remove the water filtration disk from the machine. NOTE: 4 cups or 20 fl. oz. of undiluted, white household vinegar may be used as a substitute for the cleaner. 2. Place an empty Mr. Coffee® 10-12 cup basket-style paper filter or Mr. Coffee® permanent filter into the filter basket and close the brew basket lid. 3. Place the empty decanter back in the unit, centered on the warming plate. 4. Brew three cups of cleaning solution through the coffeemaker. 5. Turn the coffeemaker off and let stand for 30 minutes. 6.     This was a great coffee machine, love the brew options and the brew later. You can’t control the temperature which is a downside. The reason for 3 stars is I got this in May and it already stopped working. It started by the light just non stop flashing saying it’s brewing when it’s not. Then after about a week or 2 of that it just stopped working all together.

    We have loved out Mr Coffee up until this point. Now, we usually make 1 pot of coffee a day. Went to set it last evening and unbeknownst to us it had tripped our GIF. Then when we got the power back on, and we tried setting it for morning, and without even having pushed any buttons, and there were no lights on, it just started spewing water everywhere but in the pot. We had to unplug it to make it stop. I noticed other complaints on here referring to the same issue. Come on Mr Coffee, you just lost your credibility with us! Poor quality control.

If your coffee maker is not working, it might be because the unit is not getting enough power from the wall outlet where it is currently plugged in or the wall outlet itself is a non-working outlet. To remedy this issue, check if there is no physical damage on its cord and if there's none, try unplugging the coffee brewer. Let the unit rest for 3-5 minutes. Then, plug it into a different wall outlet. Do not use it with any extension cords, power strips, power converters, or inverters as it may affect the coffee maker's performance. Also, make sure that all parts and accessories are properly inserted. Otherwise, it might cause the product not to work properly. Your coffee maker has a 1-year limited warranty.     If I could give negative stars I would. VERY disappointed in this, our 4th Mr Coffee maker in 25 years. If you like a lot, and I mean A LOT of coffee grounds, this is the maker for you. I prefer my coffee non-chunky. I've replaced this abysmal failure with a Cuisinart for the same price. Very happy with the Cuisinart. (Oh, and I can't attach a photo, apparently too many grounds)

    I bought this on sale and I still paid way to much for this. You end up with coffee grounds in your coffee no matter if you use the filter provided, a paper filter or both together. We dont like our coffee strong so it isn’t because we are putting in too much. Also the clock is hard to see.
