almost a correct description - max 48"
there is this tension rod in bronze but it does not go to 84”. i located one at aliso viejo even though website said there were three. it was mixed in with classic curtain rods so tough to locate. i believe it only maximized to 48” if i remember correctly, not to the 84” listed here.

Set screws are 1/2 useless.
The outer section of the rod gets pushed out of the bracket, if the set screw is tightened at all.

Garbage hardware
Inaccurate information on instructions for hanging brackets.. drywall anchors were garbage that didn’t go into the drilled hole and cracked when screwed into. Had to use purchase other hardware to install properly and without leaving a giant hole in the wall.

FYI Installation tips
Many have complained about the installation hardware. See photo of the provided hardware (black screw, white anchor) and what I used (yellow anchor, brass screw). The drill bit is 1/4" for the yellow anchor. I suspect that the white anchor is self-drilling; thus only the tip goes in the pilot hole. I do not know this for sure because I used my own hardware since the provided screws were too long for my use. If the rods move apart when you draw the curtains, tighten the rod set screws: no need for screwdriver, just finger tight. There is nothing to bridge the join between the inner and outer rods. I have grommet curtains so it's easy to jerk the curtain over the join, but some other styles will catch on the join. For the price I think these are ok but the instructions should be more clear regarding the anchors.
