Do not purchase. I have an Aroma rice cooker from around 1997 that still works beautifully. But I thought because the bowl part is quite scratched that I would get a new one. I've tried two times to make it work both times I have waited two hours and it's awful either cold or not cooked thoroughly. Both times I've had to dump the contents into my old one as the rest of dinner grows cold. Cheap cheap stuff.

On my third replacement...
I purchased this and it stopped working within a week. I contacted the manufacturer and it took forever to get a warranty replacement, but when I did the replacement was damaged with a huge dent in the side. I contacted the manufacturer to get another replacement sent out which took more time. I have had this replacement for a few months and it has stopped working again. At this point I'm just going to buy a new one and stay away from this brand.

Not sure about the bad reviews but my review is long overdue. I bought mine at Target store many years ago- - possibly 17 years ago and I still use it to this day 2025. It still works fine. I actually wish it would break as an excuse to buy me a new rice cooker but maybe back then the manufacturer was different and the quality control had higher standards.

Won't buy again!
I would not purchase this cooker again. I’ve had it for less than a year and it just died. It does NOT auto shut off. The only way to turn it off is to unplug it. What cooking device doesn’t come with an on/off switch? And the “warm” function is more like “burn the bottom of your rice if you don’t get over here and unplug this thing” function! Good things: makes 2 cups of great rice in about 20 min. But $35 for no power switch, warm function burns your rice, and apparently has a streak of crapping out in less than a year? I’ll pass and go with another brand this time!

Hello, Thank you for your comments. With any of our analog units once cooking is done it will go to keep warm and remain on until you unplug the unit from the wall outlet. As for the rice browning on the bottom there are a few trouble shoots that can resolve that. Especially with white rice we always recommend to rinse off the excess starch as they will contribute to browning on the bottom. Also too be sure that rice is added to the inner pot prior to adding water. If water is added first it will cause the unit to cook longer. Again you rice may brown or come out over cooked as sticky.
