The advanced ThermoBlock heating system maintains the perfect espresso brewing temperature while heating water on demand. Froth or steam milk with the dual frother for homemade café specialties. Q: It says 5 cup capacity, what size cups.. ? Are we talking shots of espresso or cups (8oz) I'm wanting to be able to make 4 or more shots of espresso at a time..

A: This machine will make two espresso shots at a time. The larger sieve holds 2x the amount of coffee grinds to make a double shot in one cup or two singles in two cups. Center the spouts over the one cup or place a cup under each spout. The 5 cup reference is not accurate. It will be updated in the description.

A: The EC50 can not use ESE pods. However, the Capresso EC100 can use ESE Pods and is available at Target.com.

Poor Engineering
The product when turned on remains in preheat mode. The light never turns blue as specified in the manual. After contacting customer service They said without a receipt I'd have to send it to Pennsylvania for servicing. It was a gift so the buyer tossed the receipt. (Bad move.) Won't touch products made by Jura from here on. They want us to buy American but the products they sell us are cheaply made junk.

Time and care went into the production of this machine. The pamphlet tells you the advice for perfect cup of espresso plus guidance/information regarding coffee and espresso tastes/brewing/differences. These are details I have not seen other companies include. The machine is tough. Really like the removeable water tank. Looks good in the kitchen as well. Easy to understand instructions.

I waited a while to write this review since we are not allowed to change or update them. I am a coffee maniac to the point of roasting my own coffee and I therefore have owned many machines over the years and make 4-5 expressos a day and most other machines don't last 2 years. After 6 months and a first thorough cleaning, I am confident it will last longer. But reliability is not the only thing I like about the machine. The bright red light makes it impossible to forget to turn it off even though it turns itself off after a few minutes. The water container is very easy to take out and put back and holds more than enough water for my daily expressos. The strong pump delivers a real foamy and rich expresso I did not expect for that price. I most definitely recommend it to expresso lovers and am sorry I don't drink capuccinos and can't help you there.

So easy to use! I cleaned all the removable parts. Followed the instructions and voila! Great capuccino. Feel like a barista. Buy it, you will be saving $ every time you make your espresso, capuccino o latte. I received it yesterday at the end of the day, so today after making 3 capuccinos (husband, daughter and myself) for breakfast I feel so good! saving at least $21 in one day! Also, you can make 2 capuccinos at once!

One flaw
Works pretty well, and does the job. However, it's finicky with fine ground espresso grounds. When you take the filter holder off after a lightly tamped brew, it always has standing water in it. It does better without tamping the grounds in the filter cup. Going to try a medium-ground blend to see if it works better that way.
