Description

Achieve 700% better plaque removal than with a manual toothbrush thanks to the Philips Sonicare 4100 Series sonic toothbrush paired with the C2 Optimal Plaque toothbrush head. Enjoy a powerful yet gentle clean, even in those hard-to-reach areas.

The Advanced Sonic Technology provides gentle yet effective cleaning, pulsing fluid between teeth and along the gumline. With the built-in pressure sensor, you know when to adjust the pressure. Ease off and your gums will stay protected!

To help you get used to the Sonicare experience, the EasyStart feature adjusts the power level of the toothbrush over the first 14 uses. Improve your brushing technique with QuadPacer and reach your recommended brushing time of 2 minutes with SmarTimer.

This rechargeable toothbrush provides up to 14 days of regular brushing after a single charge, bringing a new level of convenience to your brushing routine (based on two periods of two-minute brushings per day on standard mode).

Did you know that brush heads become less effective after three months? The replacement reminder tracks how often and how hard you brush, then reminds you to replace your brush head once it's time for a new one.

Q: Does this plug into the wall socket? In the picture it looks like a USB. Who has a USB at their bathroom sink?!?

submitted by Screen Name - 4 years ago
  • A: I bought an adapter plug that has both the usb plugin and a standard outlet plugin. It cost me $9.99, its a simple and cheap fix.

submitted byWayne - 2 years ago
  • A: So Phillips wants their customers to replace their bathrm outlets w/ 1 that has a USB port so that WE can use YOUR product? I don't think I'll be remodeling my bathroom so that I can use your product

submitted byK in plfd - 2 years ago
  • A: I'm mystified by absence of regular 110V double prong plug. Agree with comment, "who has a USB port in their bathroom?" My home is 30-years old, which is normal.

submitted byKulgrani - 3 years ago
  • A: yes, this is so unnecessary. I wish to have a normal plug, especially for bathroom to have usb to have extra option for water access, I am surprised they want to take that risk for few cents to keep

submitted byQuality - 3 years ago
  • A: Companies useUSB on the end of their power cables because it is a low voltaga connection, therefore they do not need to seek the same certifications as a regular plug, therefore making it cheaper.

submitted byDEA - 2 years ago
  • A: Its usb, you will need to buy the plug.

  • A: Embrace change. It's going to happen anyway. Resistence to the USB is you keeping one foot in the past and no foot in the future, leaving you in a flamingo stance. Do the bridge in all things.

submitted bykath - 2 years ago
  • A: I have a GFCI with USB charging ports in my bathroom. No issues for me.

submitted byHAHA - 2 years ago
  • A: We switched out our regular bathroom sockets with ones with usb. Shavers, etc require USB chantges now.

submitted byEEids - 4 months ago
  • A: Almost any where you shop sells wall plug adapters called blocks. They’re cheap they’re available. Stop being 1980

submitted byLinda Lou 73 years old - 6 months ago
  • A: The new toothbrush will almost assuredly work in your old charger base, too; and you won't have to defer to the new USB one. Keep it, though. I'm not an electrician and, in theory, I could be wrong.

submitted by Ch - 4 months ago
  • A: Hi there! Yes—the Philips Sonicare 4100 Series (HX3689/24) is designed specifically for cleaning teeth, gums, and tongue. It should only be used in your mouth for oral care and not on other parts of your body. Sonicare toothbrushes are safe and gentle for everyday brushing and can be used around dental work like fillings, crowns, and implants as you would with natural teeth.

The actual decibel level of the product is not a value we share publicly as it is subject to many variables which prevents us from publishing a standard value. For example, some variables that would potentially impact the dB levels could be the brushing mode selected, the brush head used, and other environmental factors (such as brushing in the shower).

Q: How often should one change heads ?

submitted by Jess - 1 year ago
  • A: Hello! It is recommended to replace your Philips Sonicare Brush Head every three months of normal use (brushing twice a day) or when the blue indicator bristles wear out.

submitted byPhilips Consumer Care - 1 year ago

The toothbrush malfunctioned from the first day. The brush head would not fully lock in, to the point where I had to stop mid-brush to press it back into place. When the head does lock in, the toothbrush works well and cleans beautifully.

The verdict is still out on my new toothbrush…

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m still debating how much I like this new toothbrush. It’s thinner to hold than my previous Phillips. The actual brush is smaller, but that might be because I am used to the plaque – fighting brush which I believe is a bit bigger. However, there is no doubt in my mind that this new toothbrush is not as powerful as my previous Phillips.

    Better oral health

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My teeth are a lot cleaner and my gums are healthier. My dentist can see significant improvements in my oral health since switching to Sonic toothbrush. It is the best electric brush I have ever had. I know I am brushing the right amount of time because of the two minute timer. It vibrates when I apply too much pressure when brushing and lets me know when it is time to change brush heads.

    Longevity is not the best

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had to buy a new one because the old one crapped out due to a common issue of the power switch failing after it wets and dries frequently (many other reviews indicating the same). New purchase doesn’t even come with a charger anymore, you have to request it separately. Planned obsolescence and Philips knows most purchases are replacements?

    Poor quality

As other reviews have mentioned, this model doesn’t compare to previous versions of the toothbrush in terms of quality. I had my previous toothbrush for about 10 years before it died. I purchased this one and it has already died after a couple short years. The button wore off within the first few months.
