Bissell TurboClean Floor Care Appliance

After reading reviews in Consumer Reports, I decided to buy this rather than renting a Rug Doctor. So far I have cleaned 3 rooms and I love it. It works really well, and the Bissell cleaning solution that came with it has a clean, fresh scent. It is so much easier to clean one room at a time, since your furniture has to go someplace until it's dry, than to try to do it all in a day or two when you are renting. I will say the tanks are small, so the clean tank empties fast and the dirty tank fills up fast. Slightly inconvenient, but I knew that going in. You can spend more to get bigger tanks or you can get this for cheap and empty/refill them more often.

Cleans the floor with so little effort. The only thing I would change is where the power button is. It's too low for my personal preference, but does not change my 5 star review.

I had a discount and a couple gift cards so I paid <$100. I picked it up the same day that I decided I needed a carpet cleaner. For the price and availability it was just what I was looking for. Yep, the tank is small and the dirty water has to be emptied before the clean tank is used up. No, it did not remove an mystery stain from my hallway. It isn't an industrial cleaner. It did take careof the dog urine in my entryway which was why I needed it. It also came with enough sample soap for me to fill the clean tank 4 times. That was enough to do all my stairs, entry way landing, hallway and one bedroom. It assembled easily and didn't hurt my back or knees using it. Also, you can reach in and clean where all the gunk comes up. A roller brush collects all the hair underneath. Carpets are gross. I feel this did a great job for the price. I wouldn't expect miracles or a super long life but I'm super satisfied with it so far.

I love this carpet cleaner!! It's light weight, easy to clean, and gets into places bigger cleaners can not. It does a wonderful job at cleaning too!!

I have grown very fond & confident in Bissell products so I decided to try the TurboClean Upright Carpet Cleaner. I have a modest size home with a combination of carpet in the living areas & laminate in the kitchen & bathrooms. That said I have minimal carpet areas to maintain so this Bissell carpet cleaner is ideal for my needs. Assembly is literally as quick as a snap here & a snap there. All components snapped together with minimal effort. The whole assembly time took less than 5 minutes or so. After reading the instructions, I determined it would be prudent to order a regular bottle of Bissell carpet cleaner. As with my carpet cleaner oder, the carpet cleaner formula arrived within 2 days. YaY! So, I got to work. I did the carpets in my guest bedroom & home office. There were a couple of troublesome high traffic areas that required pre-treatment. The end results of my first run through was very very good! Carpet dried quickly, too. Btw, the TurboClean Carpet Cleaner is a smaller unit so it requires emptying the dirty water hopper & refilling the cleaning solution hopper somewhat frequently especially when doing extra passes over heavily soiled areas. No biggie as the end result is more than satisfactory! And ideally, be sure to vacuum before using the carpet cleaner. After all that excitement, I decided to do my master bedroom, living room & hallway the following day. Knowing the process, I was able to do the three areas very efficiently with desirable results. Once I completed my carpet cleaning cycle, I did a thorough cleaning of all the components, as I do with all of my tools & hh appliances. The cleaning process was simple & didn't take much time. One note, I would strongly recommend disposing the dirty water outside instead of down the sink drain. With all the hair & dirt balls, it could easily clog your drains. Furthermore, if you dump the dirty water with all the effluent, it could damage your garbage disposal. So to sum up, I would highly recommend the Bissell TurboClean carpet cleaner. It is compact, efficient, & easy to maneuver. A very good value & order fulfillment is excellent. Thanks Bissell for another great home product. And btw, I am also thrilled it helps a great cause - our fur babies!

Not so sure it doesn't want to suck up the dirty water.

Not a good buy..made very cheaply, and that is how it operates. Holding tank is very difficult to get off with a plastic release on each side of tank. It does not do a good job of picking up.....I would not buy this product again!

This is the type of product you think about renting from some place to do that spring cleaning...but then never do. You think you're getting by and have a fairly clean carpet, but then decide between kids walking in and out, the occasional drink getting spilled, and other life happenings, it's time to actually get the carpet clean. And the TurboClean Upright Carpet Cleaner is a great item to have on hand to tackle the dirty part that living life entails. It was very straightforward to use, easy set up and the directions were clear to get me started on cleaning up my carpet. And yuck! I had such dirty carpet We are an active and outdoorsy family, host plenty of gatherings with friends, and, even with a shoes off policy in our home, we are in and out all the time. As you can see from my photos, our carpet shows use. My three critiques are very minor and are 1) I'd prefer an inner cord storage instead of the standard wrap on the outside, 2) move the power button up the handle shaft instead of having it near the bottom, and 3) a small stair-friendly extension would be perfection. All in all, this is a beast of a product and stood the test of cleaning up our carpets. I'm definitely keeping this as part of our regular cleaning routine to keep our carpets clean and our home welcoming for us and our guests! We rent, and the carpet is awful. This little machine made a difference. The water it sucked up was disgusting and we regularly vacuum with a high powdered vacuum cleaner. This was easy to assemble, and way lighter in weight than I expected. It's not much bigger than a vacuum cleaner and it really cleans. The only downside is for those sensitive to fragrance - the solution's smell is strong and I needed to open the windows as we began to feel nauseous. I hope they come out with an unscented or natural cleaning solution! Overall it's worth it. I can't believe what just a couple passes pulled up. I received this carpet cleaner from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We have 2 cats who've been marking, & 2 young kids who have been kids, so we cleaned high traffic areas & smelly, tough-to-treat cat urine stains. My last carpet cleaner was from 10 years ago & worked well but was heavy, big & tricky to use. This carpet cleaner was easy to use- clean & dirty water containers clip in to place easily and intuitively. Easy to empty and refill. (Reservoirs are smaller so I stopped a lot to empty or refill but it was easy.) The cleaner is lightweight & intuitive. When moving slowly to clean carpets, it makes a difference to have it maneuver well; this started & stopped easily, turned well & was easy to recline & stand up. Some people may not like the smaller width (take longer to clean large spaces), but it was helpful to address corners/small spaces where cats marked. All cleaners I've used are hard to see the front panel to determine if it is still sucking up dirty water, & this one didn't magically solve that, so I had to crane to the side to see the front piece, but I think that's the design of all of these machines. The smart cleaning features (the front pulls off easily to remove debris & prep the cleaner after use) are game-changing to maintain the machine and my mood (it was nice to have intuitive & quick clean-up). I missed having accessories, but I used them infrequently. That speaks to the usability of this machine since I see myself wanting to use it regularly since it is nimble, powerful and intuitive to use. Seems to have powerful suction, which was appreciated. We bought the branded urine-specific formula; smelled good, seemed to work great at first. We'll need to repeat the carpet cleaning to really get into the deep stains our cats have made but it helped minimize some of the odor before we hosted family, so I was grateful for that!! I *really* like this nimble, intuitive, powerful carpet cleaner & foresee pulling it out to do small & large jobs!

This upright carpet cleaner is a great in-home carpet cleaner for regular use. There are just a few pieces and parts to put together and you're ready to use this cleaner. The pieces and parts click in with an audible click to confirm that you've assembled it correctly. The instructions are super helpful to explain when to hold down the trigger to spray the cleaning solution and when to simply make passes until you see no more water getting sucked up through the front window. The suction is significant and water can be easily seen as it flows up through the clear front panel, into the dirty water reservoir. All in, I'm very happy with this machine and look forward to working through all of the carpeted rooms in my home. The cleaning solution smells great and makes the whole house smell clean. As a mom of 3 little kids and a house full of mostly carpet this carpet cleaner worked wonders. The size is perfect and easily fits in the closet with my vacuum. It is very easy to maneuver and feels just like vaccumming. The carpet cleaner easily sucked up the regular dirt in the carpet, and can clean up vomit. I will be using this cleaner in the future to clean my carpet. I would absolutely recommend this carpet cleaner to anyone. It is so easy to use and so easy to clean after use. My Bissell Turboclean finally came and right out of the box it was very user-friendly to assemble and get ready to use. My manual showed the contents to have 2 Bissell Trial-Size Formulas but I only got one, the Max Clean + Protect. The size is inconspicuous and can easily fit in the corner of my kitchen. The wire is long which allows for easier reach but when stashed away it neatly rolls around the cord wraps built into the handle. The illustrated manual is so clearly written and it was actually very easy to maneuver the product. Set-up was fairly easy. I like that the trigger is right on the handle and the recline pedal allows easier operation. I especially appreciate the covered on-off switch, you could never go wrong with safety! The cleaning power of this machine is amazing! I first used it on a couple pee stain spots from my dog and I was so delighted to have a fresher smelling carpet! I tried it on a tougher mess, my kitchen area rug. This rug is right in front of my stove and although I spot clean right away when I drop something on it, there are still stains that are somehow embedded on it and we never really know how to properly clean it. The first set of passes I did with the Bissell Turboclean I could already see the difference. It took a few more passes but it's really mind-blowing how months-long oil and grime are being expelled from this rug thanks to this powerful cleaner! The suction power is my most favorite thing it just makes me want to clean even more because the stark difference is visible. Another thing I love is how easy the after-care is. Everything is easy to assemble and disassemble, you can never go wrong. This product will surely be a new household favorite and I've been raving about it to family and friends. We have three kids ages five and under, so my low-pile carpet was in rough shape from markers, potty training accidents, and even a small bit of chewing gum. I've never used a carpet cleaner, so I wasn't sure what they're capable of in general. Here are my general thoughts: 1. Ease of set-up: 5 stars. I'm 7 months pregnant, and I found it VERY easy to click the four pieces into place, plus push the whole thing around, even with the water tanks filled. I will say the materials felt like pretty cheap plastic though, like I wouldn't be surprised if it all fell apart within the year. 2. Ease of use: 3 stars. The biggest surprise and frustration was how many times I had to stop cleaning to change out the dirty water tank and refill the clean water tank. Every 20 square feet or so (about three rows of back and forth cleaning), I had to stop everything, trek both tanks to the sink, and reset the whole process. For my carpet that's about 70 square feet, I had to stop three times. This also meant I used up almost 4 gal of water and most of the 8oz bottle of cleaning solution the cleaner came with. However, I really liked that the whole machine just stopped sucking once the dirty tank reached "max," since I wasn't really focused on its level. I'm glad they automated that. 3. Cleaning power: 4 stars. I mostly wanted the pee smell gone, some marker stains removed, and the carpet's color to become more uniform and brighter once again. It tackled the pee smell VERY well, and I think I could say that overall the carpet *looks* cleaner, and the marker stains were still slightly there, but only visible if you got really close to the fibers. From far away, it all looks much better! I didn't really expect it to fully tackle the gum, and it didn't, so I suppose that met my expectations. Also, the color of the dirty water was DISGUSTING, so I'm assuming that means the cleaner sucked up a ton

Our house is mostly carpeted so having the TurboClean Upright Carpet Cleaner to clean a lot of high use rooms like family room and bedrooms is convenient. While somewhat bulky at the base/suction area (so tougher to find a spot to store it if you have limited closet space), the cleaner is portable so you can carry it up (or down) as you clean (carpeted!) staircase with relative ease. It also has convenient attachments to switch as needed when going from floors with corners or under couch cushions, or different textured surfaces. With kids running about, I typically use the cleaner for food spills and all kinds of arts and craft debris, and the carpet cleaner did its job. I like the convenience of a dedicated carpet cleaner that is relatively portable and has the power to clean bigger messes. Ive tried a few carpet cleaners and this one definitely seems like the best of all worlds. Its definitely more effective than some of the smaller models of carpet cleaner available on the market right now. If you have pets/kids and rugs/carpeting you care about this is a must. I was given this carpet cleaner to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Luckily, as a home-owning, coffee-drinking, mother of two and a 70 pound dog, it was much needed. The best part about this cleaner is the size. We all have vacuums and other various cleaning machines that take up space. This cleaner is upright, lightweight, and slim in design. I have already found myself cleaning up coffee spills with it because I can take it out of the closet quickly and maneuver it easily; obviously, it is way more efficient than my stain remover spray and rags, too! Although it is small, it is mighty. I spot tested the cleaner on coffee stains, dirty paw prints, and another unknown mark on our living room carpet. These stains are now gone. Since then, I have used the machine to do our whole living room, making sure to empty the dirty water tank a few times! It's frightening how much filth we are living in, even when things appear clean! Best of all, it is easy to clean the machine itself! I have wasted money on trying to clean our carpets through professional cleaners only to have the stains appear again after a few days. I have waited to give this review and I am pleased with the results! I recommend you try this product before hiring anyone or buying a big, bulky machine!

I am loving the TurboClean upright carpet cleaner! I was lucky enough to receive this product to try out as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I've been using it for the past few weeks mainly on pet messes. The amount of cleaning power is very impressive for such a small machine. It's overall easy to maneuver and take from spot to spot and has SO much more power than the smaller more compact machines. The set up for the cleaning fluid and the dirty water tank is for the most part, easy to set up and use. I also tried it out on some set-in stains. We have old carpet that probably needs to be replaced, and I was thrilled with the amount of cleaning power the TurboClean provided even on old carpet with old stains! This cleaner is for sure a WINNER.
