I purchased this in November 2025 and have used it less than 10 times. The handle on the lid broke (plastic snapped) a few weeks ago. I heated up a ham today. I heard a loud “crack” noise and found the crock had broken. I’ve had a Hamilton Beach slow cooker for 18 years and it is still fully functioning with no problems. I don’t think I will buy a CrockPot brand again.

8 qt Crock Pot cooks like a wonder
My favorite thing in my kitchen is my crock-pot. And I had to replace my 7 qt one with this 8 qt one and that 1 qt makes a lot of difference. I cooked a 10 lb spiral bone in ham and it did amazing.

Defective/cannot get through to company
It seemed to be of cheap construction so I didn’t use it for a while after purchasing. When washing the crock I noticed a huge defect in the bottom that was glazed over during manufacturing. I couldn’t risk using it. I’ve tried numerous times to call and could not get through. The email form would not allow me to complete. So disappointing since my old crock pot was great. I doubt if I will be buying anything else from this company.

Poor quality
I purchased 2 of the 8 qt crockpots. I bought a 6 qt crockpot about 25 years ago, and it cooked without no problem. I would put my food in the 6 qt crock pot and I could leave home for a few hours and come home to a wonderful aroma in the house. Both of the 8 qt crockpots are a nuisance. Within a couple of hours of starting to cook my food, the contents are boiling...and that is on the low setting. I am afraid to leave the house when I am cooking in one of the 8 qt crockpots. What did Crock=pot do different in designing the 8 at crock pot? Plus the outside of the crockpot unit itself is SO hot to the touch. My 6 qt never had any of these problems. I am very, very disappointed in both of the 8 qt crockpots. I would like to return both of these crockpots with a full refund. Crock pot isn't what it use to be.

It's a simple use cookware product. I use frequently and for a variety of meals. The clean up is most important to me. It's a large unit so make sure you have space for it, whether countertop or storage.
