Q: There's plastic inside the kettle on the pour spout and strainer. I removed the strainer, but can't get the plastic pour spout off. Is this removable?

The clear material on the water level indicator is made of TPX Polymethylpentene the characteristics are similar to those of traditional polyolefins TPX features superb clarity, transparency, gas permeability, heat and chemical resistance and release qualities. Q: They say that the water does not come in contact with plastic, but the window where you can see the level IS plastic. Just because it’s BPA free doesn’t mean it’s not plastic. So, it DOES come in contact with the plastic that is window, correct?

I like how I can set specific water temp to brew specific tea leaves at their best temp. Wonderful option that is a game changer for various teas. The kettle does not give off heat either, which is nice during hot humid summer. I first discovered one of these kettles at airbnb and knew I had to get one.

My family loves our new kettle as it does everything it should, and does it well at a comperable time as our old one that I accidently broke the glass kettle while washing it. The features are all pretty self-explanatory, but what turned me onto this one in particular is that it's stainless steel and should last a much longer time, especially as it's from a reputable company that I trust as all of our products from Cuisinart have been good to us. I just wish that Cuisinart used absolutely no plastic for areas where hot water will come in contact. With everything we're learning about plastics in our bodies and how it's harmful for our health, please improve on this Cusinart.

I bought the Model CPK-17C (DL) less than a year ago, and for the last few months the lid will not stay closed. I have resorted to placing a shot glass on top of the lid to prevent it from popping open. This was a relatively expensive purchase (as far as electric kettles go), and I thought that Cuisinart was brand that represented quality. I have been disabused of that notion. I Definitely would not recommend this specific product, and personally I'm not going to purchase any Cuisinart products in the future.

Made so good and heats to a boil super fast as I’m always in a hurry as I take tea to work at 5:30am and it is a game changer for the better. My tea taste so much better now that the water is precise temperature what a big difference that has made. I hesitated for years getting a teapot. Let me tell you this teapot is outstanding try it. My husband drinks green tea; I drink black tea. The pre-programmed temperature settings are perfect for us. Now, he doesn't have to guess when to take the stove top kettle off the burner, and I can have water reach a rolling boil in minutes for the perfect pot, or cup, of tea every time. When we want coffee, the kettle complies. It has quickly become a part of the family. The CPK-17 is easy to fill, boils water extremely fast, and looks great in our kitchen next to other cherished Cuisinart appliances. I know I made the right choice!

Once you boil water you can leave it on the warm setting and it will keep your water at the exact temp you want for 30 minutes. There are multiple setting for different types of tea and coffee. Awesome!

Great kettle and the only one I would buy in this price range. This is my second one - last one lasted more than 12 years! Only issue is the volume window sometimes fogs up, especially over time - so keep it well maintained.
