Q: There's plastic inside the kettle on the pour spout and strainer. I removed the strainer, but can't get the plastic pour spout off. Is this removable?

The clear material on the water level indicator is made of TPX Polymethylpentene the characteristics are similar to those of traditional polyolefins TPX features superb clarity, transparency, gas permeability, heat and chemical resistance and release qualities. I bought this kettle 01/02/2024 and it stopped working today, 08/24/2025. Up until now, it worked just fine. It quickly heated water to the selected temperature and kept it at that temperature for several minutes while preparing pour-over coffee. Now the kettle's only use is as a water pitcher. Fortunately it is warranted for 3 years. We'll see how that goes...

I'd seen Jamie Oliver use an electric kettle for numerous tasks, but it felt like a convenience or even perhaps a contrivance, but not a necessity. Then I purchased a mountain cabin and didn't want to duplicate appliances we already had which would wind up there eventually. I had a French press but heating water in a pan and pouring it caused the press to tip and the glass carafe to break. I purchased a replacement carafe but, determined not to risk that again, I sought an alternative. I came upon the electric kettle and the light bulb went off! I'd also wanted to start drinking more tea than coffee and this kettle offers preprogramed settings to accommodate different teas! Yay! So I purchased and have relished the ease of preparing both French press coffee and various teas! I love it! I highly recommend this to anyone who wants convenience and enhanced capabilities to expand their gastromomic world.

I bought this kettle three years ago and has 2 good years of use. However, the lid began to get stuck and now won’t open. I also noticed rust started to develop around the lid rim. I’m disappointed that it didn’t last longer and now the price has gone up $60 from what I originally paid.

Bought new a few years ago. Worked as advertised for a couple years. Now the unit has started boiling uncontrollably even if no buttons are pressed. In searching online, I see that this failure mode is so common as to be nearly inevitable, leading to enormous risks when the unit fails to stop heating. I do not recommend buying this dangerous kettle.

We now have 2 that have broken after a couple of months use! We rec'd one as a gift a few years ago and it was wonderful. When it broke, we replaced it with the same Cusinart model. That one broke within a couple of months. We replaced it again, and that one has now broken after 6 months. Clearly not a fluke. Cusinart has changed something and the thing is now a piece of junk.

Works as promised. Heating 1.7L to 200 degrees using cold tap water takes about 6.5 minutes. Control settings and water level window work well. There is a feeling of quality that is missing in its competitors. Hoping its longevity justifies the price.

Product does not last. Original purchase only lasted 1.5 yrs then just stopped heating water. Cuisinart did provide a warranty replacement. That replacement also only lasted just over 1.5 yrs and suddenly stopped working in exactly the same way as the original- just stopped heating the water. However, based on date of purchase of original replacement is now considered out of warranty. 2 units both failed in ~ 18 months.

I like how I can set specific water temp to brew specific tea leaves at their best temp. Wonderful option that is a game changer for various teas. The kettle does not give off heat either, which is nice during hot humid summer. I first discovered one of these kettles at airbnb and knew I had to get one.
