Q: Are the strips separate from the hooks or do you need to use the strips to hang the hooks? Do the hooks have sticky stuff on the back of them, or is that what the strips are for?

A: The strips are separate from the hooks; it is possible, but difficult to see in the picture. I have some similar, the instructions should be the same, or close to this: Clean the surface to attach the hook to. Each strip is sticky on both sides, but with a paper backing so the sticky isn't exposed until you are ready to use it. It is marked which side of the strip is to stick to the surface, and which is for the hook. Remove the backing for the side to the surface, stick the strip on the surface, then press for about 30 seconds. Then remove the other backing and place the hook on it, press for 30 seconds. Then let sit for a while (the ones I have is 1 hour) before putting anything on the hook. The strip is longer than the hook, so to remove, you pull on the strip. I haven't removed any yet, so I can't comment on how easily it comes off or how "paint-safe" it is. This will destroy the strip, but not the hook; to put the hook somewhere else, you will need a new strip.

They are small so you don't really notice them much but they are very convenient to hang small items like keys or wires. They apply easily, like all Command products and I'm sure they're easy to remove. We are hanging a flashlight from ours right now.

They are perfect for hanging small things and have so many uses. While I used the first one to hang my keys I can't wait to use these to hang the mini light set we have for decorating the inside of our camper van.

I hung my bottle brush under my kitchen sink. I followed the directions and the hook has stayed in place and I can easily reach my bottle brush when needed. 3M does it again!

You may be able to see from the pictures that there is a rough edge where it did not break off cleanly. These clips would be best for hanging wire, like a strand of mini lights for the holidays. The hooks would disappear. I do not know if these would work outdoors. The quality is up to 3M standards. I have textured walls throughout this house and my last 2 houses, so this will not work on texture--it must be a flat surface, like cabinets. But, there is no residual glue with the strips, so I have used these for years.

I had difficulty finding a household item to hang from the hook because the hanging part was too large. It is best for items with a ring, rather than a hole. This hook holds up to one-half pound. Command Strips and Command Hooks are the superior brand in nail-less hanging. Everytime I've lived in an apartment I use these little hooks to hang my basic wall decor up and everytime I need to leave, everything comes down easily and leaves no mark on the wall, no residue, no anything. It's like it never happened. I would strongly recommend this product.

They are clear so hang on any wall color with ease and they don’t show up so blend in. I used them for keys but I am thinking of many more places to use them including Christmas light patterns on walls inside where all you will see are the lights not the hangers. I really like these easy to install and easy to move.

I also like to hang smaller pictures, small Christmas lights, and small decorations on them. They are easy to apply and I can put them just about anywhere. I also like that I can remove them easily and they don't damage my walls. I would recommend these to my friends.

These were easy to use. A few quick presses and holds and the hooks adhered to the wall. I used these for a few areas (a lanyard hook) and a small picture frame. The strips held perfectly. I received this product for free for the purpose of my review and this is my honest opinion.
