Hold my curl well!

On my 2b/2c hair, this has no hold whatsoever. I put in a generous amount, scrunched and then let dry 50% and then added some more and diffused (smasters technique). My waves were limp and not defined. I am in a very dry high desert climate so maybe that's a factor. Super disappointing product.

I’m honestly so impressed with how this looks in my hair. I have naturally wavy-curly hair (2C/3A) that can get flat at the roots and frizzy if I don’t use the right styling product, and this mousse gave me the perfect balance. The definition is what stands out the most. My waves look more uniform and “put together” without feeling stiff or crunchy. It enhances my natural texture instead of weighing it down, which is huge for finer hair like mine. What I love is the volume. My roots don’t fall flat, and my hair actually looks fuller and more lifted, especially when I air dry. It gives that soft, bouncy look instead of the overly coated feeling some curl products leave behind. It also adds a really nice shine and keeps frizz under control without making my hair greasy or heavy. My curls look soft, defined, and touchable all day. Overall, this is perfect for anyone with wavy to curly hair who wants definition, volume, and hold without crunch. It makes my hair look effortlessly styled while still feeling lightweight and natural.

I really wanted this product to work well for me but it is soooo drying like oh my goshh . I use this in the wash day bundle and I swear it takes the moisture out of my hair despite the hydration from the 808 gel

I’ve been using The Doux Mousse Def Texture Foam, and I’m honestly obsessed. The foam is light and fluffy, and it melts right into my curls without feeling sticky or heavy. My hair instantly looks more defined, shiny, and bouncy. What I love most is that it dries soft — no crunch, no stiffness — just touchable, happy curls. The scent is sweet but not overpowering, and it makes wash day feel a little more fun. This mousse definitely earned a permanent spot in my routine.

This mousse is no longer suitable for 4C hair. I have used this mousse for several years now and it used to create hold and definition on my 4C hair. This is no longer the case. Now my hair has day 7 frizzines on day 1 freshly styled wash and go. I bought the Chief Rocka mousse and it has better hold than the Mousse Def mousse. Chief Rocka has the same strong hold as the old Mousse Def that I bought in the past. Though, on the website it states that both mouses have medium hold. Hmm, strange... If my memory serves me correctly, I remember it stating in the past that Mousse Def was a strong hold mousse. I want the old formula back. Sadly I will no longer be repurchasing.

I love that it holds my curls without weighing them down! Super lightweight and gives a light cast that is easily able to crunch out with a few drops of oil. If your hair likes to soak up product but you can only use this and a gel, this mousse is your girl :) I use a combo of this mousse first, Odele Curl Defining gel- but just a quarter size of it- and when half dry, HASK repair argon oil 5-1 leave in spray to scrunch the crunch :) its such a good combo if your hair weighs down easily if you use too many products

Wanted to try this due to the good reviews. It didn’t seem to make my hair more frizzy or dry but it was too crunchy or textured so it made it look much stringier than it does with other products. I had to brush out my waves to get rid of it as it wouldn’t totally scrunch out. I even tried it several different times in different amounts and before and after my leave in smoother. So on someone with thick, wavy long hair this was a no go.

When the class action lawsuit comes out I’ll be joining it. Me and my son are highly allergic to this brand. I really loved the results on our hair but it causes burning and itching for us. This will be another Mielle situation.

I never review things. I have 3b-3c natural hair and everything is either too heavy or too light. This mousse is my HOLY. GRAIL. I pair it with a leave in and light curl cream (usually just whatever I'm trying to get rid of) and this, without a doubt, delivers every single time. I will be buying several to bring on a 3 month long trip bc I genuinely cannot live without it. If you want definition? CHECK. Not sticky? CHECK. Soft hair with strong hold? CHECK. BUY. THIS.

This is the best mousse I have ever used. I pair it with Crazy Sexy Curl mouse and I get the best wash and go. Works on all types of curls. I have 3 girls and we all have different textures and works on all textures. You will get a full week or even more with your curls looking shiny, frizz free, defined. If you put it on more wet hair, the hold won’t be as strong. If you put it on damp hair, the hold will be stronger so you can tweak it how you want it. I honestly cannot stop going on and on about how wonderful these mousses are. I have tried numerous curly hair products…The Doux nailed it!

Awesome product!

For so long I've been looking for a product that defines my curls but isn't stiff and crunchy. This is the perfect hold! I've been using it for almost 2 years and I won't try anything else. I don't have any issues with build up. I'm going to start trying some of their other products for my kids. I highly recommend!

Let me tell you, THIS MOUSSE is everything!! I was never a fan of them because any type I tried before dried my hair out. I gave it a shot and loved it from day one. I paired it with the Bonita Afro Balm.. GOLDEN MIX Y'ALL. I don't know what they did to make this mousse but this is it!
