Q: Can this machine be used to grind spices, nuts and corn seeds?

A: I would never use a burr grinder for spices, nuts or anything but coffee. The burrs will get clogged with all the oils from the nuts and the bits from the seeds. Stick with a blade grinder for spices.

A: Hi Dan! Thanks for your question. The hopper for our Conical Burr Grinder can hold up to 3/4 lb of coffee beans. There is not a maximum daily output or maximum duty cycle for the grinder. If you are grinding a very large batch of coffee, you may need to clean out the grinder between batches to prevent clogging. This grinder is recommended for household use only.

A: Hi! Thanks for your question. Our Conical Burr Coffee Grinder has a removable upper burr ring that is able to be taken out for cleaning or to be replaced. The lower burr on the grinder should not be removed.

A: Hello! Unfortunately, we do not have a set time frame on how long coffee beans will stay fresh inside of the hopper on our Conical Burr Grinder. There are several factors that can affect the length of freshness for the coffee beans.

Q: Can someone tell me how many seconds I need to grind beans for 12 cups of coffee at setting 9? We drink 12 cups of coffee and I only got six cups out of 20 seconds at setting 8. The settings only go up to 30 seconds.

A: Thanks for your question! The number of seconds needed for 12 cups can depend on several factors including how strong you like your coffee, type of roast, etc. If 20 seconds provided half the amount that you need, we would recommend doubling the amount of time. Since the machine only goes up to 30 seconds, you can one 30 second cycle and one 10 second cycle to get the amount needed. I hope this information is helpful!

First off, thank you Target for allowing me to return this flawed product. This product does not work with as advertised with a dark roast bean that has any natural oil. The device design and space usage for grounds to dispense is flawed. Problems: 1) it immediately clogs and won't dispense after using with a small amount of beans 2) trying to access blockage to unclog requires removing the container to hold the grounds making mess when you try and unclog 3) the design does not allow any space internally for coffee ground to not build up and clog and/or easy remove to prevent clogs in the first place. 4) For the price, it should just work and if any for of cleaning is required, it should come with tools required to easily maintain it. Finally, my pernsonal impression, which could be wrong, was that of the power and durability of the engine for the grinder was borderline under powered for durability and a long life.

I love my grinder! I use it for french press and chemex brews so I don’t know how it would perform for espresso grind, but I find it so easy and convenient to use. I love that it has a cannister. I’ve used other grinders and they can be quite messy. My sister has the same and loves it. Great price too.

We replaced our Baratza, which I damaged, with an Oxo. This is easier to use and to clean although I wish the grounds container was bigger. The grind is uniform and the machine is quieter than the Baratza. So far we’ve been pleased.

We've had this coffee grinder for 6 months now and I've been very happy with it so far. It's not too loud, it gives a consistent grind, and I love that the stainless steel catch container has no static which means the coffee grounds don't fly around or stick to the container and make a mess. The only trick is to figure out how many seconds to grind on your setting, since the grind settings aren't by numbers of cups of coffee but by seconds of grinding.

This is very nice and not very loud. Easy to use and it comes with a scoop that you don’t need to take the lid off the cup to remove the grounds. BUT, if someone can help me figure out how to not have the cup that collects the grounds jiggle away from its spot that would be great! If you were to leave it while it’s grinding, it starts to slowly jiggle away letting some of the grounds fall out. It’s not a deal breaker but maybe someone has a way to rig it to give it a little lip keeping it in place.

I have been using the Cuisinart grinder for years and the Oxo is a real improvement. The stainless steel grinds container solves the problem of static charge that plastic containers have. The calibrated timer dial is also an improvement over a control with unlabeled marks. The fact that it keeps its setting until you purposely change it is just what you need. I was able to find the time needed for the weight of coffee I wanted by increasing a fixed number of seconds at a time, weighing, and then just adding up the seconds for the final value. Sice the timer scale is linear and well calibrated, the result was perfect. A nice design touch is the trap door bean hopper that allows you to remove and replace the hopper without emptying it first if you need to take a look at the burr grinder. The grind is very consistent with out the fine powder that my previous grinder produced along with the normal grind. The burr is removable for cleaning if necessary with a handy wire bale attached for easy removal and replacement. The grinds holder did require some attention to tell when it was in place but once done it's no longer an issue. I appreciate attention to detail in product design and this is a nice tool.

This product comes at a good price and lasts for a long time too. My grandma got one for my brother as a gift. Every time I come over to his house, I get to use the machine, and it always surprises me how quiet it is. He has cats, so this is a good option for pet owners. It is a little hard to clean, but I think the grind consistency is worth it.

I’m obsessed!! This grinder is a game changer. I love freshly ground coffee beans, but neither my husband or myself had the time to pull our old ugly grinder out of the cabinet each morning to make that happen. This grinder holds extra beans in the hopper and starts with the push of a button. There are several settings to get that perfect flavor you are looking for. Works very well, when it is not clogged. The trouble is that it completely clogs after just a few uses! Issue: You can only remove the top portions of the grinder to clean but the clogs are always in the bottom portion so even after cleaning it it is not clean. Poorly Designed. AVOID!
