  • A: I would never use a burr grinder for spices, nuts or anything but coffee. The burrs will get clogged with all the oils from the nuts and the bits from the seeds. Stick with a blade grinder for spices.

  • A: Hi Dan! Thanks for your question. The hopper for our Conical Burr Grinder can hold up to 3/4 lb of coffee beans. There is not a maximum daily output or maximum duty cycle for the grinder. If you are grinding a very large batch of coffee, you may need to clean out the grinder between batches to prevent clogging. This grinder is recommended for household use only.

    Clear Winner

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had other grinders of which neither comes close to this product. One other ground OK and held more beans than for one pot of coffee but grinds would get inside the grinder shell and I would have to dissassemble periodically to empty the grinder body of leaked grounds. It finally just died due to that problem. I hope the OXO has better seals to prevent ground leakage. Other previous ground would get stuck simply grinding beans if it hit a tough bean - Just no. The OXO holds 2-3 pots of coffee worth of beans, grinds like a champ and I like the stainless grind cup a lot vs. others plastic. I was unsure about timing the grind at first but very simple to figure out. Thus far - all good !

    Great

    It grinds fast and the noise is not bad at all. I wish id gotten it long ago. Grinding at home helps keep the coffee tasting fresh. I see how the particle size has really helped my coffee/espresso taste better. It also seems to help me make less of a mess when putting in in the espresso thing. Wish it wasn’t so expensive

    So disappointing

    We received this grinder as a Christmas gift. By April the grinding output was so minimal it was no longer usable. We have followed the directions for cleaning it out multiple times with no improvement.

    I purchased this product and it came used. When I opened the box coffee grounds spilled out all over my floor, and the item was in poor condition. This is ridiculous that target didn’t inspect the item before selling it.

    Bought for grinding coffee beans for cold brew

    I prefer cold brew coffee. Was in search of affordable burr grinder to grind dark roast beans. Easy to use, quiet, relatively affordable. Grind beans at maximum coarseness level for brewing cold brew, then need to sift out the “dust” and fine grounds with fine sieve before brewing. (Not sure if there is a grinder in this price range that results in more uniform grind consistency?) After brewing, need to filter brewed coffee through a chemex filter (or similar filter) to remove oils and sludge in the bottom of coffee pitcher. (These steps are what others seem to be doing, in my online search of making cold brew, as well.) More work than I originally anticipated, but results in good cold brew.

    Quiet and clean grinder

    I have had my grinder for 3 months. It grinds perfectly for my French press when set at 11. It is quiet and all grinds go into the cup which means no grinds on my countertop. I use it daily and have had no issues at all. More expensive than others, but if it lasts I think it’s a great value. I would highly recommend this grinder!

    Easy to use, consistent grind

    There hasn’t been an Oxo product that I haven’t loved yet! I’ve been using this grinder for a few months now and haven’t run into any issues. It’s easy to clean, has a stream lined and straight forward build, so no complicated process to learn. I wouldn’t say it’s overly loud, but not quiet either. Happy with my purchase- it’s solved my problem of consistently getting grinds in coffee, while using my French press. There so are many grinding options to choose from, depending on your preferred method of brewing.

    After 11 months this thing has stopped grinding and pushing grounds into the cup. Also I paid 99.00 for it 11 months ago and it is now 109.00. Do not waste your money. It is Feb 2026

    Amazing fresh grounds for coffee

    Who doesn’t love fresh ground coffee? This OXO coffee grinder is a game changer! We use this every morning before brewing our coffee and I swear it makes the coffee taste so much better! It’s small put powerful! Clean up super quick and easy! I’d highly recommend this product as the price point is fabulous.

    Life changer for a perfect coffee

    Ww purchased this because my husband is a great coffee lover .This gives you the flexibilty to select the grind. Very simple to use as you just have to adjust the top to your preferred grind size .I always fo for medium setting. The built in timer feature is also very excellent.The grinds are consistently uniform and grinder peforms effortlessly every time. The only issue is you can't remove the bottom burr to clean it.

    Great grinder!

    We bought this grinder during COVID and it's still working just as well as it did when we got it! It allows you to decide how long to grind the beans and has 15 different levels of grind fineness. Has allowed me to make both espresso and cold brew grinds consistently. It also comes apart for an easy clean. We keep ours stored away and it fits nicely in our cabinet but note that it is surprisingly tall!

    Grind the coffee evenly.

    I am very happy with this OXO coffee mill. The grinding is uniform thanks to the conical molars and this is noticeable in the taste of the coffee, it is fresher and with a better aroma. I love that it is easy to use and that you can adjust the level of grinding according to the type of preparation (coffee maker, French press, pour over, etc.).

    Disappointing Performance

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Constant problems with the grinder. Grinds coffee in big chunks no matter what setting it is on. I received a replacement but still issues. I would not recommend this grinder. Disappointing since I love my OXO Coffee Maker and was hoping this grinder would be a favorite too. Not so much.

    Constantly Clogged

    I typically keep it pretty clean but now after having it for a couple of months it completely clogs with every use. I take it apart, clean it out, only for it to clog right back up.
