Great Set, Poor Target Packing...Shocking.
Awesome set. Surprised the set made it to me in good condition, seeing as how yet again, target personnel felt the need to pack the set in a ridiculously oversized box with no inner packing material. Completely unacceptable, but sadly nothing will change.

Final result is brilliant - building not so!
The final result is a brilliant model of the shark attacking the Orca and its three heroes - it really does show the power and savagery of the battle. However the build is frustrating with the bow section and the shark not having the same solid construction as other sets. As per the previous review bits drop off all over the place when trying to pull the pieces together. Buy some super glue and just stick the offending pieces together - I used to glue merryily away all my Airfix kits when I was 12 years old so just doing the same in my second childhood. PS. I actually bought the DVD of the Spielberg film to get me in the mood - now 40 plus years old and still brilliant. Spielberg sure knows how to pile on the tension!

While the evil Lord Business from THE LEGO® MOVIE™ is a big fan of gluing his models together, we don’t think it’s a good idea to use any type of glue on LEGO bricks, as gluing them can cause the bricks to change shape. You might want to try the LEGO Builder app for the 3D version of the instructions to catch smaller details. You'll want to make sure that each part is positioned exactly as shown in the instructions and that everything is pressed together firmly (except the gears, which need some extra room to turn). My wife bought this for me for the 50th Anniversary of Jaws coming out in theaters, which I saw four times. I’m sixty-four years old and haven’t put Legos together since I was a kid. What a great build! I had no trouble putting it together and it looks great! I’m now addicted to building new Lego sets. Another hobby in my retirement.

My new favorite?
I feel like I say this almost every time I build a new set, but this may be my new favorite set. The build was not at all difficult like I’ve heard in some cases. The only critique I have is that on the bow of the ship there are some elements that are just there and not attached to anything. Overall I had a lot of fun with the build. The display ability is great with this set. It fits on a narrow shelf, and I like how you can display the shark separately or have him attacking the boat. I would definitely recommend picking this up before it retires this year.

This was perhaps the most annoying building experience. The bow feels like it'll collapse with the slightest touch. I suppose it's nice that Lego offers a few different display options, but I think the main display of the shark jumping onto the orca is the only real way to go. I love the film Jaws, but ultimately, this set is a huge letdown for the price and build experience. It does look good once complete though.

This is a very detailed and beautiful set. It is great for fans of both Lego and Jaws. The only problem I have with this set is, that it is very fragile. A simple one minute fix becomes a nightmarish ten minute fix. I would highly recommend have this set on a shelf where it can be more safe and keep pets and children away so it doesn't shatter into pieces. Overall it is a very beautiful, detailed set but is very fragile.

Bag 4 has a step (two blue pieces) that wont stay in place and there's so many steps to undo you really have to go back to the beginning. There's a lot of people in the same boat (haha) and I'm giving up on it and I recommend buying an alternative set, its a lot of money to write off as I have done.

I was afraid to order this for a long time because of the reviews! I decided to take go for it since it will be retiring soon, and I am so glad that I took the chance because I had none of the issues that are listed in the reviews. I found this to be a very enjoyable build and I love the finished product!

Flimsy build
This is one of if not the worst build I have ever done. There are multiple points in the whole build were large sections are connected only by a single brick. Add that on top of having to literally flip the whole boat over to complete the bottom, it is by far one of the least structurally sound builds that Lego has produced. The end result is fine, but if it were to break during a move, I absolutely would not rebuild. I absolutely hope there are no other builds in the future that rival this.
