There’s nothing wrong with the printer itself except it uses SO much ink. You print a few things and the ink is gone. The ink is expensive.

Issues with connectivity; draft printing poor; software CD

I bought this 3 weeks ago. It connected to wifi at first, but then won't connect at all. Says connection is poor, but it is literally <10 feet from router. All other items in the same room have no issues connecting. Drivers for Windows 11 must be downloaded. New printer, but Windows 11 driver not automatic? Disappointed in draft quality. Have printed several pages on draft, and it prints out gray, not black. I understand lighter and faster, but not gray. CD is given for software. Who has a CD drive anymore?!? I'll be returning this to the store.

Over all good; must have printer

I bought this printer about a year ago. It was sparingly used but when used there were no issues in it. Print quality connectivity speed functionality and compatibility are all good. No drying of ink or clogged head. Well I did keep one thing in mind always kept in the plastic sheet that came along which kept the nozzles from drying. Duplex printing saves in paper.

Very good for business.

This is very helpful for my business I take care of every day. My previous printer was continually giving me errors no matter what and it was hard to get things done in a timely manner. This Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3820 Wireless is very easy to set up and use and took only moments when we changed our internet service. The quality of the prints is excellent and quick.

RESEARCH EPSON INK CARTRIDGE LAWSUIT AND FIRMWARE UPDATES

DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER unless you want to pay for OVER PRICED EPSON only brand ink cartridges. Epson’s firmware updates cause their printers to not recognize off-brand cartridges. I thought that this was a great printer when I purchased it in 2024, but now I’m forced to pay 2x the price for genuine EPSON ink in order to print. I will replace this printer as soon as possible. When I researched, I found there is a class action lawsuit against EPSON over this INK cartridge issue. I also found that EPSONs response was to sue the consumer’s that are participating in the lawsuit. Just stay away from EPSON and do your research on the higher rated brands of printers before purchasing.

Illegal cartridge practices

Not sure if Epson knows that requiring only genuine Epson-brand cartridges is against US Federal Laws. Other brands of ink cartridges and ink supplies are not compatible and, even if described as compatible, may not function properly or at all.

Great print quality

This printer has great speed for a home computer. The print is crisp and clean. I was pleased with how easy it was to set up and had little problems. I have been able to print from my Iphone and HP tablet without any problems. I would recommend this product for personal use, college student use and possibly small home business.

Epson Connect - Scan to Cloud features are inaccessible

Added a new WF- printer to my home today. Used existing, updated Epson software for installation and connected to printer in a few minutes. However, after two-hours of repeated attempts to utilize Epson Connect configurator were useless. Followed directions from installer and could not login to Epson with existing credentials. Had to create/overwrite existing profile, as well as 2nd layer of security to finally obtain new login. Still cannot setup cloud emails, etc after several attempts to do so. Getting message below during each attempt; (Epson Corporate Logo) (Epson Connect Logo) You are not registered to use Epson Connect. To use this service, you need to register your printer or scanner and register to use Epson Connect with your Epson Global ID. Please check the following link for more information. not for all paper size auto-feed, double-side printing

2 Main points that makes this printer non-beneficial for me: Limited on automatic double-sided printing. I print a lot of double sided documents that are not letter size. I bought this printer under the assumption that I could seamlessly double-side print. That is not the case. So if you're one to need to automatic feed, double side print anything other than letter size, this is not the printer for it. The printer continuously drops wifi connection.

Very bad product. It will not let you print in black and white when you run out of any of the colored cartridges. Avoid!

Would Avoid This Printer

Printer cannot print in B&W unless all cartridges, including color, have ink. I would never have bought if I known this. Seems like common sense that you should be able to print in B&W only and not constantly have color available.

Pass on this...

Third unit I have purchased. Runs for about 6 months with a light load of work, maybe 50 sheets a month. Suddenly, won't connect even after updating all drivers, etc. Always at the worst time too. Now I have to buy another printer.

Great Until Firmware Update

All fine and dandy until you do a firmware update and Epson blocks you from using more economical ink cartridges. Wouldn't be a big deal if Epson's ink cartridges were actually better, but they are not and they eat through ink even on low settings. Spend the money on better laserjet printer that doesn't eat ink and require you to always use their brand.

Hello boozmd, Epson periodically provides firmware updates to address issues of security, performance, minor bug fixes, and to ensure your printer functions as designed. Your WF-3820 was designed to work only with genuine Epson ink cartridges, therefore some updates may affect the functionality of third-party ink. Non-Epson branded or altered Epson cartridges that functioned prior to a firmware update may not continue to function. Great printer

Miss the easy 2 sided copying that my other printers had. Takes more time and have to remember to flip pages - works, scans, and prints well. Great printer. Had problems with printer acknowledging to print - I think wrong software was installed (stated in comment by company) but working now
