Description

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: For Indoor Residential Use: For thorough detection of bed bugs, use 4 detectors per sleeping area, all at one time. Use the remaining 4 in a second nearby sleeping area or for travel. Replace with new detectors if bed bugs are discovered. 1. There are multiple detectors/traps in this package. Before placement, break Raid Bed Bug Detectors and Traps apart by folding at the perforated lines. 2. Place a detector on the floor next to the two legs of the bed or furniture closest to the person’s head where people sleep or rest. 3. The other 2 detectors can be placed horizontally under the box springs or near the top of the mattress between the head of the mattress and the wall. 4. Always orient the trap with the label side down. 5. Detectors are most effective if sheets and blankets are tucked in, not hanging down and touching the floor. Bed bugs traveling to the bed may access the bed at these points, instead of using the legs where you placed the detectors. 6. The detectors should be left in place continuously and replaced when a bed bug is caught, when dusty or every 3 months. Use all detectors at once. Use enough detectors for all bedrooms and living room furniture. 7. Examine the detectors and the area under the detectors for the presence of bed bugs at least 2-3 times each week. A flashlight may be useful for seeing the bugs through the top. 8. To discard, wrap and seal detector in a plastic bag and place in outside trash. 9. If even one bed bug is found, start a treatment program immediately. Go to Raidkillsbugs.com to learn more. For Domestic Travel: 1. Break Raid® Bed Bug Detectors and Traps apart before placement. 2. Place a detector on the floor between the bed and each of the night stands. If possible, place the other detectors on top of the headboard. 3. Always orient the trap with the label side down. 4. Detectors are most effective if sheets and blankets are tucked in, not hanging down and touching the floor. Bed bugs traveling to the bed may access the bed at these points, instead of using the legs where you placed the detectors. 5. The detectors should be left in place continuously during your stay. 6. Check detector before bed. 7. Use detectors in your luggage for your return trip. 8. To discard, wrap and seal detector in a plastic bag and place in outside trash.9. If even one bed bug is found contact hotel staff; do not attempt to treat yourself. 10. Bed bugs are reclusive creatures, so place immediately upon check-in and check immediately each night before sleeping. STORAGE AND DISPOSAL. STORAGE: Store in a cool, dry area. Do not store above 120°F. DISPOSAL: Wrap and seal detector in a plastic bag and place in outside trash.

Q: Do they still work if you already have a lot of bed bugs?

submitted by Colinia Angelina Osensia - 5 months ago
  • A: Great question! Raid® Bed Bug Detectors are designed to detect bed bugs early. The traps work best when placed before an infestation occurs, otherwise it's just confirming the existing infestation. We'd be more than pleased to assist you in finding a product that better suits your needs! Call us weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT at 1-800-558-5252 and this is your reference number: 22854073. Not sure how bugs are "detected"

This product is called a product 'detector' but I'm not clear how it works. As someone else said, the trap itself is black, so it's virtually impossible to see a bug inside. There are no instructions on the box nor on the trap that say how to find the bed bugs that are trapped. Are they supposed to be cut open? If so, after how long - 24 hours? a week? I'm not sure on what I can cut it open with. And I guess it's disposable after opened. Why are there no instructions on how bugs are DETECTED?

Hi there! Each trap should be examined at least 2-3 times a week. It can be helpful to use a flashlight for seeing bugs through the top. If we can assist you further, please give us a call at 1-800-558-5252, weekdays between 8 AM and 5 PM CT. Be sure to mention your reference number: 22039831. I wouldn't buy this again

I don't have blood spots on my sheets or mattress I don't have black marks on my sheets or mattress I don't have shells on my mattress or box spring so I bought two boxes of these traps to detect if I had bed bugs I put one under each mattress and one under each couch. I saw a bed bug so I purchased the traps to see if there were any more in my home each trap was empty it's been over a month and all the traps are still empty but I have seen at least 4 bugs I have killed and my granddaughter bit up

Thank you for your feedback. When placed on the floor next to at least two legs of the bed or furniture, at the corner between the mattress and boxspring, or under furniture cushions we'd expect these to help detect infestations. Keep in mind, these are meant to help you detect an infestation early, otherwise, you are just confirming one exists. We recommend starting a treatment program even if one bug is found. So we can assist you further, please give us a call at 1-800-558-5252, Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM CT. Be sure to mention this reference number: 020938750A. Looking forward to chatting! - Brooklyn, SC Johnson Consumer Care

The trap is black and so are bugs

Who is the genius that did not make these white? I can't tell if there are bugs in this trap, because besides being difficult to look inside, the bugs are the same color as the trap and I can't see them. Are those spots or bubbles in there? If you bring a magnifying glass, how do you hold the trap in the sun, the trap, and the glass at the same time?

Thanks for reaching out. This product is to determine if bed bugs are present. For this reason, the traps are darker to attract bed bugs as they seek dark spaces to hide during the day before coming out at night to feed. When checking the traps, a flashlight may be useful for seeing the bugs through the top. If you'd like to learn additional information, we're more than happy to help you out. Please give us a call at 1-800-558-5252 (M-F 8 AM - 5 PM CT) and provide reference number 020911561A. We hope to hear from you soon! - Rachel, SC Johnson Consumer Care

    Doesn't work

They do not work I didn't have a huge infestation and unless you have a ton they won't work for anything. Raid products in general just aren't very good

I would definitely buy this again!

I found this product easily at the store and found the directions very easy to follow. I was pleasantly surprised the detector/traps did not have any odor. I placed the detectors as the instructions indicated and found no issue. I used this product at home and found them very light and easy to use. I would definitely use this product again and while traveling! This review was collected as part of a promotion, and the opinions are my own.

Glad to have this product in my Arsenal.

The RAID Bed Bug detector and trap is honestly one of the greatest products I could have purchased. My first impression is that I would be able to know early on whether there is an infestation at home, while traveling, or elsewhere and it can be treated proactively. I've never purchased a product like this before and I'm excited to have it my household arsenal. This review was collected as part of a promotion, and the opinions are my own.

    Know early, so you

Know early, so you can treat quickly. Use when traveling or at home in sleeping areas to detect bed bugs. To detect bed bugs early, you must place traps before an infestation occurs; otherwise you are just confirming an existing infestation. To maximize effectiveness, place all detectors at same time!

    Idk I've had this

Idk I've had this for months. And It hasn't caught anything and I know I had bed bugs. But even if it does catch them I cannot tell. U could shine a flash light on it and still it's too dark to tell if something is inside it or not.

    Doesn't Work

I purchased this product because my daughter was waking up with bites on her. I followed all the directions and never caught anything but dust. I finally ended up completely disassembling her bed and found a nest of bed bugs. Not one ever made it into the trap even though they were placed right by her head and she woke up with bites on her face everyday. I am very dissatisfied with this product. Hopefully others will have better luck because mine were so terrible I wish I had my money back.

    Worked?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is hard to give a product at glowing review when nothing happens. But then, ideally, that is what you want when you put out the testers.
