The stand mixer's planetary mixing action rotates the beaters around the sides of the included 4 quart stainless steel bowl so you don't have to scrape the sides. It has the same rotating mixing action as the higher-priced brands. The mixer performs better than two-beater stand mixers and features the tilt-back head design for easy access to the bowl to add ingredients. The tilting action also makes it easy to quickly change attachments. Q: Do the people answering these questions know what a hand mixer is? Seriously, because it doesn't make sense. Does it come apart? Doing so would seem counterintuitive to the type of beater that requires a firm base for a bowl that doesn't move.

A: Ok, so since the beaters can be removed, that makes it a hand mixer? So you remove the beaters and then whip them around with your hands? Come on. I've checked out Hamilton Beach's website, and this is a STAND mixer, not a HAND mixer. Your own description says "Hamilton Beach Stand Mixer" several times. Only your title and answers to questions incorrectly call it a hand mixer.

Q: Why is this mixer not recommended for mixing meatloaf?

A: Thank you for your question. Meatloaf mixed with a hand mixer may become too dense or dry. Depending upon the amount used, damage may occur to the appliance.

Good product
The mixer serves me well except that when mixing dough you have to watch it because it does not sit on the counter well. It moves as the dough mixes. I had this product for sometime before it fell on the floor and the bowl snapped off. It is a great product just not for making heavy or medium doughs.

Stand is not strong enough
I tried this 2 time but i am bit disappointed because when i tried to make dough it makes mess and throwing food outside and even the cover doesn't fits properly and very noisy.

So far, I like it. Only used to make a cake mix. Lot lighter than my old Kitchen Aid, but OK for the price I paid. Will know with time and thicker recipes how well it will do and if I like it.

Stand mixer
I like this mixer. I had to replace my other HB stand mixer I had for 16 years that quit after all the heavy holiday baking I do. This mixer is so light and easy to move around. I like the beaters and splash guard on this mixer. The red is the vibrant and brightens up my kitchen.

Bowl detached from base. 4 small spot welds do not hold when using on heavier dough. Speed numbers come off when you wash. Beater does not properly mix in bowl. You constantly have to scrape sides of bowl manually. Do not recommended.

Love it! Like the handle on the top, used it to make a cake and icing right away, this is the first stand mixer I have owned, so nice not to have to hold a hand mixer! Very sturdy stand mixer, price was excellent too!! Red color is beautiful.
