The use of a clarifying shampoo, followed by a deep conditioner can sometimes soften a color that is too dark. We also suggest that you avoid the use of heat (ex: blow dryers, curling irons) which can further set the color in.     Mocha Brown

    I feel the need to review the mocha brown so no one else has the same experience. It is in no way any shade of brown. My hair is now jet black and it looks terrible. I guess I'm going to have to have it removed somehow but I have lupus which is making my hair fall out, so more processing isn't ideal. Just be ready for extremely dark hair. Nothing brown about it.

    Not good for grey or light dyed hair color

    Oh no! I bought this black dye to cover up my new growth greys and even out the brown I had in there before. I followed everything perfectly and only the roots turned black. Did not cover up the lighter colors or any of my grey. My hair looks crazy right now and now I’m worried I just damaged it for no reason.

    I don’t like the new formula change

    I’ve been an avid user of this hair dye, and never had any issues before the change of formula. I took a chance with the change of formula and did not like it at all. The application is more runny. The coverage is decent but will easily stain all over. Ive also dealt with an allergic reaction such as constant sneezing and running nose; which I’ve only encountered with this particular hair dye. I will no longer use this hair dye as I’m concern about this new formula change.

    Beautiful color. Awful formulation.

    The color is beautiful and I’ve never received so many compliments however the formulation leaves too much to be desired. Not only does burn and tingle like no other hair dye I’ve tried but it also doesn’t cover grays 100% and it’s so thin that it drips. I noticed after the first wash, that there were areas that were so fade, I thought I missed them during application. The color fades so incredibly fast. I dyed my whole head again for the second time and the color is half washed out already. In one wash. I love the color, berry burgundy, but I’ll never buy it again. Full disclosure: I’ve been dying my hair for over 20 years. I know it’s not a user issue.
