The perfect coffee maker
We have the café refrigerator and decided to purchase the Cafe coffee maker. Both of these products are exceptional. The Cafe Coffee coffee maker brews coffee perfectly every time… I get many compliments on the look of it and it’s very easy to clean. The copper accent on the handle is a nice classy look in the kitchen.

Not reliable
We bought this coffee maker in early 2024 and have issues almost the entire time we have had it. It started when the machine prompted us to descale, which we did. The descale sign never went away and has flashed for 2 years straight. Then the button went out and would not allow us to smoothly scroll to change time, cups, strength, etc. It would bounce around: for example, trying to set the time from 7AM to 4:30AM, the hours would go from 7 to 9 to 2 to 5 and eventually land on 4. Then two days ago the coffee brewed lukewarm and today it stopped brewing altogether. Very disappointing for the price point we paid for this product.

For the issues you’ve had with the descaling notification not going away and with scrolling, we recommend disconnecting the coffee maker from power for a couple of minutes before reconnecting, to reset it. This can often solve an issue, and may help with the brewing issues as well. Pretty, but probably won’t buy again…
It’s pretty…BUT it’s almost entirely cheap plastic. It requires so much cleaning otherwise the white will stain. When it inevitably breaks, I will not buy again.

Ugh!
Just switched to "bold setting" to see if the taste is better. Have been using moderate. I had to call to find out how to turn the pot off. The water reservoir does not always fully empty after brewing. Overall it looks a lot better than it delivers. Would not purchase again. Do not want to go thru a return process.

Poor Brew
So far a bit disappointed with the brewing. I like strong coffee and have set it to strong and raised the temperature but it still does not brew to the strength that comes close to the Mr. Coffee we use from time to time or the Kitchenaide. The opening of the carafe is also a bit small and difficult to get your hand and sponge in to clean it properly. Other than that it is sleek and looks great on the counter. But if we can’t get stringer brew, we may just have to return it or chnage it out.

We'd like to provide some tips that can help with getting a stronger brew. The brew strength is determined by flow rate: Stronger coffee = slower flow rate; Light Coffee = Faster flow rate. We recommend using the "Bold" setting for more flavor extraction. It is also important to remember that the type of coffee and freshness is a large factor in the flavor, taste and aroma of brewed coffee. We recommend the use of a minimum of a medium grind coffee for the best performance.

not worth the money
I have had 2 of this coffee maker in less than 2 years. 1st one quit brewing within 6 months. It was still under warranty so it was replaced. 2nd one quit brewing in less than a year. Couldn't get GE to service it. I do not recommend this coffee maker!

Do NOT buy this coffee maker. I bought it to go with my Cafe appliances. We have had two stop working in a year. We went through the warranty for one of them. And that was a hassle. Now the second one broke. I am throwing it away. Both of them broke around the 4 month time period. Don’t waste your money or time.

Excellent coffee maker.
Makes a great pot of coffee.Looks great on my counter top. Only holds 10 cups, but my morning coffee is more flavorful than with my old coffee machine. Not sure if it’s the reusable filter or the temperature that it’s brewed at, but definitely a better cup of coffee.

Looks great, doesn't last
The machine is beautiful, and at first it brews amazing coffee, but as many have posted, it is not durable. The paint is flaking now after 2 years, the coffee does not taste good anymore. There is a strange flavor to it now.

Poor quality materials
The carafe itself is made of poor quality. Not only did the white stain almost immediately, but the metal material is peeling off, and I’ve had it a year.

Expected More
I expected so much more from a coffee maker at this price point. There are a few display defects. The control panel has black defect lines on the side. The Brew button is twisted and not centered. The coffee filter does not fully filter out coffee grounds. It’s a beautiful machine but very disappointed

Nice addition to our Cafe kitchen
For a long time I was hesitant to purchase this coffee maker due to reviews about the metallic finish flaking off. At some point I got over it and took a chance because we are happy with all of our other Cafe appliances. So far no quality issue with the finishes. We are very happy with the coffee it brews. We have been dedicated french press users for years and wanted to change our morning routine. The recommended water to ground coffee ratio is a little stronger than what I used in our french press, but we think it tastes great. Strong and very smooth. We have tried several brew setting combinations but settled on just using the Gold setting. It has been consistently better than what I was creating with the french press. My favorite Sumatra coffee was fabulous. This coffee maker is easy to use and clean up. We are very pleased with our purchase.

Quit working after 90 days. Zero support.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The coffee was fine while it lasted, but it only lasted 3 months before it quit working. There is no error message, I fill it, start it, and it just sits there and makes no coffee. The manual directs you to the care section of the website. The care section of the website is a pdf of the manual sending you to the website. In other words, they provide as much care as coffee — exactly zero.

Poor quality materials
I've had this coffee maker for 2.5 years and the areas that have metallic finish are all peeling off and look terrible. It makes great coffee but the materials should last longer that. I have taken very good care of and only ever wash it by hand with non-abrasive cleaner, so I'm disappointed in the quality and would not purchase again.
