I personally don't like the thick cakes feel since I'm more of a light to medium coverage type of girl. But other then the texture the product really does work to do it's job. It's not to expensive compared to other higher end products like it and it's not smelly at all!

It's great under makeup, though I've found it works best when I let it set for a couple of minutes before applying foundation. It's not a miracle for extreme oiliness, but for everyday wear, it keeps my shine in check without drying me out.

I really like the NYX Shine Killer primer. It helps keep my face from getting too shiny, especially on my forehead and nose. I use it before putting on makeup, and it makes my skin feel smooth. I tried the NYX Shine Killer as a mattifying primer, and it worked fairly well under makeup. It has a smooth, silicone-like texture that helps foundation glide on easily. I noticed it did reduce shine for a few hours, especially on my T-zone, but I needed touch-ups later in the day. It’s affordable and good for short wear, but not a miracle solution for oily skin. Works best when paired with a setting spray or powder.
