OUAI Fine Hair Shampoo - Ulta Beauty

I bought the travel size shampoo and conditioner to try it out, and I'm glad I got the small size. I used them for a week before the bottles ran out. I had an enormous amount of breakage and my hair was super frizzy.

I disliked the scent of this shampoo and conditioner, only used it 3 times because of that, so not sure the benefits it could have on my hair.

I underestimated the reviews I read that talked about how strong the smell of this shampoo/conditioner set. I am someone who is not sensitive to strong smells, but this shampoo knocked me off my feet. I used the set once and the strong "grandma" smell stayed on my hair for days. It took 2 washes of clarifying shampoo before I could get the smell out. I didn't try the shampoo more than the first time due to the smell, so I don't know if the product even works well. (The one shampoo use gave me a massive scalp breakout, but without trying it more I dont know if it would have cleared up)

This expensive shampoo made my hair dull, flat, and greasy with repeated use. As I run my fingers through my hair, I can feel a heavy, bordering on tacky, residue left behind. I enjoy this brand, but skip their shampoos. The Detox shampoo is overhyped as well.

So before spending the steep price to try out this product I used to go back and forth on all of Redken's lines. By now I've tried them all and while many were nice, I found myself reluctant to repurchase because they were so expensive and I never noticed any extreme results. After just the first wash with this shampoo I can validate that this duo was literally made for my fine, bleach damaged, sometimes frizzy, hair type. The comments about the smell had me worried, but I think that while it is strong, it smells great, like expensive skin care, and truly does lasts for days. I no longer need exuberant amounts of spray detangler after a wash. I can comb through my hair with ease. I also do notice more volume at the roots which also lasts between washes. Not an insane, untamable sort of volume, but it is definitely noticeable compared to my previous shampoos and conditioners. Despite the luxury price point, this product delivers everything and more that I was looking for and I will certainly be repurchasing when I run out.

Wow! Very heavily perfumed. Wish I had read some of the reviews on that. And to think this is a travel shampoo. No way would I subject the passengers around me on the plane to this perfume scent. I’ll have to go grab something else. Disappointed. Who would ever want that much perfume in her hair?

I typically use New Wash from Hairstory, a 2-in-1 that makes my hair last 4-6 days without any dry shampoo or anything. Typically when I run out of New Wash, I use the OAUI hair masque as if it's a 2-in-1, but since I knew I would be out for a while I switched to this just to try to finish out the summer, but it has not been kind to my hair. It's very emulsifying, and feels clean in the shower, but my hair is greasy within 1 or 2 days. I also think it's drying my hair out a bit even though I'm using it with the hair masque. It's not worth the price if I'm going to be washing my hair so often.

Just an okay shampoo. Definitely left my hair drier than normal. But the old lady smell was the absolute worst. I thought it would die down after a few hours but it didn't. Seriously smelled like grandma's bathroom! I love their detox shampoo but I will never try their other shampoo ever again.

Ok so I can understand the grandma smell but it has to be one of the best shampoos Ive used in a long long time. Definitely recommend, an if the smell is that much off a problem, use a leave un conditioner or oil to cover it up, not that hard!

I was hopeful this would be a good product for my hair. My hair felt stripped and the scent was not pleasant at all. The smell was super strong and overpowering. The smell reminded me of old rancid soap. I will be returning this product.

Im glad I ignored the negative reviews and tried it anyways. Ive been struggling to find a product that brings out my natural wave because everything weights my fine hair down. This does it! It adds volume and brings out the natural wave of my hair. I like the smell. It lasts a long time. If I shower at night, I can still smell it the next day. But I think it smells good so I dont mind.

I have tried tons of curly hair shampoos, but I always had flat roots and top layers. I assumed it was just my wonky curl pattern. Within just a couple of washes with this shampoo, I have so much more volume and wave at my roots! My wavy/curly hair loves this shampoo! I didn't notice the scent issue. It just smells clean to me.

Unfortunately, I can't whether or not this is good for hair. The moment I opened my package I was overpowered by the smell of grandma. Decided I wouldn't be able to use it because of the smell and left it in my bathroom with the intention of returning it later. When I came back, my entire bathroom reeked of old lady smell. The bottles weren't even open—just sitting on the counter. I had ignored the reviews intitally thinking maybe they were exaggerating and since I like Ouai, I wanted to give it a try. I recommend NOT doing what I did—trust the reviews. The smell is intolerable.

my hair has a super slight wave pattern, and lots of layers, this shampoo and conditioner combo really brought some life into my hair like i haven't seen for so long! so much volume from just air drying. it does have an older lady smell though lol
