I love this primer from NYX. I will admit that the first time I used it, I was a little shocked at the colour of the primer. I’m used to colourless primers. However, this primer really does mattify my oily skin. On particularly hot days, I’ll use this primer on my zone and a sticky primer on top before applying make-up. Sometimes I like to use primer on its own without make-up on top - I like how it makes my skin look vibrant. However, with my pale skin I cannot do this with this primer. It does leave a slight charcoal tint to my skin. This disappears under make-up.

Definitely the holy grail of primer if you want a matte finish. Freaked me out at first because it’s black but it dries down quickly and is so soft. I hate being shiny because I feel like it looks sweaty so this is it. I’m converted.

Perfect base for a smooth foundation application. Amazing product for the price! Convenient packaging is easy to get every drop out! Nice scent and ingredients I’m content with. Really smooths out texture and minimizes pores, great for aging skin. For a drugstore product, it performs like some higher priced competitors. Will definitely purchase again!

I love this primer. It’s super light and keeps my skin looking matte all day. I recently wore it for 8hrs in the heat and humidity and my makeup didn’t budge and my skin was shine free despite the humidity! This is my go to primer because it works great and it’s cheap!

For the price point, it is an incredible product! I struggle with shine in my T zone on a daily basis. This product keeps it at bay and works efficiently in keeping my face shine free. There’s virtually no scent to it and the packaging is easy to work with.

I tried NYX Shine Killer hoping it would control my oily T-zone throughout the day, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations. The texture was nice and lightweight, but my skin still got shiny after a few hours. Might work better for someone with less oily skin Not effective for very oily skin, but lightweight and easy to apply. had high hopes for the NYX Shine Killer primer, but it really didn’t work for me. My skin was shiny again within an hour, and it didn’t help my makeup last longer either. It felt more like a silicone layer with no real mattifying effect. Definitely not worth the money in my opinion. Overpriced and ineffective — didn’t control shine at all.

Left black residue streaks all over my face. I don’t know if it was my skincare I put on before, but the first time I put it on, I had to wipe it off because the black streaks would not go away. So the second time I put it on, I skipped some of the skincare that I thought could be causing the streaking. Nope, still left black streaks all over my face. Will not use again.
