Constantly drops connection on both WiFi and direct connections and takes way too long to reconnect and usually involves power cycling the actual camera which is terrible since it’s in the bedroom of a SLEEPING BABY!

Frustrating!
When I first received the monitor it was perfect and extremely easy to set up and use. I also used the app on my phone all the time to see my baby. I really love the large screen and 2 monitors. Then around 10 months to a year the monitor kept telling me to do a software update and would beep all the time at me to do it. We finally did the update and then it would no longer connect to our wifi. I am livid!! I have tried everything that is recommended and have tried everything multiple times. The monitor will not connect at all! My wifi pw has been the same for 10 years, so I know it’s not my wifi that’s having issues. I emailed the company and they told me everything I already researched myself and then gave me 5% off a new one. This is a $200 monitor!! I would not recommend this baby monitor!

Unreliable
Completely left me disconnected in the middle of the night. After a year of use the monitor completely stopped working. There was always connection issues and the annoyance of it constantly wanting to connect/reconnect to WiFi, but last week the monitor completely froze on the start up screen and never came back. We tried a hard reset, letting it fully die, etc. nothing worked. We reached out to VTech they let us know we were outside of the warranty window and there’s pretty much nothing they could do. Disappointing and frustrated.

Not always reliable...
We’ve been using this monitor for two months now and I’d say it’s mediocre. The dual camera view and the fact that it can be remotely adjusted are definitely pro’s, however, it’s disappointing that you can only monitor the sound from one camera at a time. The picture quality for both day and night views are decent on the monitor, but the app picture quality is lacking and often appears very pixelated. The most disappointing thing is that the app often fails - the cameras disconnect or refuse to load and the video history is almost never up to date. You also can’t play back sound notifications, only short video clips. None of these things is helpful when trying to monitor your kids in real time. I also have trouble with the temperature monitoring. For some reason the max temperature will randomly set itself to an outrageous number which then causes the monitor to beep as if the temperature is too high. The monitor itself holds a charge through the night when needed, although most of the time we just leave it plugged in.

DONT BUY
If I could give it a 0 I would. The monitor battery is horrible. It died after 10 minutes. No matter what you do. I’m shocked they are allowed to sell this because it’s a scam product

So far so good I was skeptical based off all the reviews but its day 2 and I'd how we have a 2 and 4 yr old and nearly getting these I love the app never fails super clear view the dedicated parent unit is pretty good too I actually use it more than the app ill update in a few weeks as of right now its 5 stars for me but ill leave of at 3 stars till I use it for a while

Do not buy - 0 stars
Connection goes out all the time on both modes, very unreliable when you reply on this monitor to make sure your babies are ok while they nap/sleep. App connection is awful too - I have to reconnect almost weekly. Monitor went out less than a year and customer service has not responded and now avoiding our emails on getting a replacement.

Not great to start, then stopped working completely
Video quality is not great, frequently cutting out or appearing pixelated. But it did the trick… until just after the 1-year warranty ended and then one camera stopped working entirely. Vtech was no help whatsoever and there is no option to replace just one camera. A waste of money and would not recommend.

Absolutely love this monitor!
I love that I can use this to see both of my kids in their separate rooms. We use the melodies every night for my 4 and 1 year old and when the one year old is fussy, the SHHH sound soothes her quickly. I love the app and the ease of use.

Do not buy!! VTech is no help!!!
Do not buy! This baby monitor randomly disconnected from the wifi, and when trying to reconnect it, it says 'no wifi.' I called VTech, they said because it was purchased over 1 year ago (my daughter is newly one) that there was nothing they can do. I asked if they could troubleshoot with me, and they said "It sounds like you have done everything you can, something is malfunctioning in the product" To which, I responded "okay, but there is still nothing you can do to help?" They said "no." What a waist of money!

Stops working - do not buy
Stops working after 1 year. The size of the screen and ability to have 2 cameras on display was a motivator for us to repurchase this after our previous Vtech monitor went out, because we wanted to take a chance on the other negative reviews. Take this as your sign that the other reviews about the monitor are true and shop for a different brand. Vtech should not be able to continue selling this product.

Not as good as they used to be.
Terrible picture quality. But it's on all their cameras now. My original is great but (like all their units) the parent unit needs to be plugged in to be used. Dies the second it's unplugged. This camera also glitches and turns on the nightlight for no reason and can't be turned off unless you reset the camera. You can't watch the monitor and the app at the same time, one or the other only. I'm just so over all of this. I'm just getting two more RING cameras and calling it a day

Do not buy. Ever.
Nothing but issues ever since we purchased. Have 2 cameras, one each kids room. Lasted a year before the monitor broke. The cameras constantly disconnect and reconnecting them is extremely frustrating. Save yourself some frustration and look elsewhere. Currently looking to buy a different baby monitor at 8pm after the kids went to bed because this one failed us.

The quality of the video display is nice. However, after using this for less than 6 months, the parent monitor no longer charges and will not turn on. We can only use the app now, which is a huge bummer for us since we need the parent monitor to see both cameras.
