Q: Can I calibrate this thermometer? If so how do I calibrate it.
A: This thermometer cannot be calibrated. If a user thinks the temperature reading is incorrect, they should put fresh batteries into the thermometer. They can always check the accuracy using ice water slurry: 1) Fill a cup with ice 2) Add water to cup 3) Slowly stir the ice slurry with the probe (keep probe away from the sides and bottom of the cup for better accuracy) 4) Thermometer should read 32F (0C). Q: Can it be used as a candy thermometer?
A: This is not recommended for candy. Note - This is an instant read thermometer (not a leave-in) with a short stem and max temp of 392F. If you need a candy thermometer, we recommended using an actual candy thermometer which Taylor does sell on target.com (search 070-05-3600)

Q: How long does it take to get a stable reading on this model of thermometer ( i.e.3, 5, 20 seconds)
A: This convenient, foldable thermometer takes about 15 to 20 seconds to get to a stable temperature reading.

Q: I have a brand new Taylor meat digital thermometer and it will not turn on do I need to put batteries in it and if so where
