Old standby
I've used this dye for years now. I try other brands occasionally, and always come back to this one. Good results for a good price. I only dye my roots. They blend in perfectly, and the old growth doesn't fade. Brown Black is almost black, but I definitely see brown in good light. Very close to my natural color.

The first time i bought this color I assumed i made the mistake but the second time yielded the same results. It's unfortunate because I find using a straight brown color is too light for my hair but this brown black was spot on for my roots. Where do I go from here i thought I had finally found my color 😂

Easy to use at-home hair coloring!
I have been using this hair coloring for many many years. Will continue using it. Only reason for four stars instead of five is that each time they change packaging/formula, it fades quicker. Which is disappointing for a "permanent" hair coloring kit!

I usually use Revlon , but decided to give this a try. I used it and after doing it step by step as the directions instructed, it made my hair dry and brittle. I used the conditioner, left it in for 2 minutes. I wouldn’t recommend this. Black is a dark black brown.

Not Nice or Easy
This brand in Black is horrible! I usually buy Revlon Soft black or any other black in stock but everything was out of stock for Revlon so I got this brand in black. Omg 😳 it's the worst dye and shade of black is so ugly!! It looks like ink on your head, so fake looking, not natural at all! Also, it stained my tub, and ruined my clear shower curtain liner. Also, my head was so blotchy with black it wouldn't come off after shampooing and rinsing. Be careful that you don't get any drops because it's so hard to get off. This is crap, the whole experience with this color was awful. I use Age beautiful from Sally's, and Revlon and they never stain, my bathroom, tub, liner, ect. It was a mess! I can't believe all the stuff I seen in the water afterwards yuck, I put that on my head. Big regrets, never again. I'm sticking to the other brands I mentioned before because I never had all this chaos with a hair dye before. I had to post this because wanted to share my disappointment and bad experience.

Brown/black color=JUST BLACK
The brown black color is just straight up black. Don’t trust the box, don’t trust the color swatches. My hair is now completely jet black and I have to figure out a way to fix it before a major event.
