Q: Do I remove small rubbers from the tray before use it?

  • A: I would not remove them. Those rubber guards are made of silicone, which can withstand very high temperatures. I have a Ninja air fryer and it also has those rubber things attached to the cooking tray. Those guards help to elevate the cooking tray to allow air to circulate beneath the food. It's interesting that those rubber guards are not illustrated in the user manual for the Instant Pot, but are shown in their promotional videos. Since mine were already installed, I left the rubber things on the tray without any problem.

  • A: Great question, Tash. We do not recommend removing the silicone parts from the cooking tray. These pieces are used to keep the tray in place whilst in the basket, in addition to allowing for proper air circulation. We hope this helps!

    Do not recommend

    Currently on my 2nd instant pot vortex air fryer. My first one lasted about 2 years before having to replace it but it had been used on a regular basis so I wasn’t shocked when the fan went out. My new one is less than a year old and the handle has already fell off, causing the part that holds the food to fall, and cracked the exterior plastic a little. We screwed the handle back on and the air fryer still works for the time being but I’m assuming I’ll need to replace this one within the next few months. The quality really is disappointing for such an expensive kitchen appliance. Switching to Ninja next time.

    Does Not Last

    It worked really well for us up until recently. We’ve had it around 2 years and now it won’t stay on. For a couple weeks it would work if we unplugged it and replugged it in but now it just goes black and turns off immediately. Very disappointing because now it’ll end up in a landfill.

    Cannot get rid of plastic oder that permeates the food!

    We have had our Vortex 6 qt. air fryer for almost a year. The size is great, cooks the food - however we have tried every recommendation we have heard of - to try and get rid of the smell while it is cooking. It is a hot plastic smell that odor permeates any/all the food you are cooking. Until they and fix this - I would not recommend!

    Love my airfryer

    I absolutely love this air fryer I cook everything in it no issues at all. Ive owned it for 4yrs now def recommend it. Cleaning is super easy by far the best no more oven use for me

    Good but short life

    While mine was functioning, it was great. We used it daily until it stopped cooking midway 8 month later. If you want long lasting, go elsewhere.

    Disappointed

    I have had this air fryer for less than two years. This is a kitchen appliance that I rely on heavily. In the middle of me cooking a meal, it stopped working. Being that this is not a cheap kitchen appliance, I am highly disappointed. Additionally, it is difficult to clean.

    Disappointed!!!

    It is such a disappointment that this air fryer stopped working in the middle of me cooking a meal. This is a heavily relied upon kitchen appliance. Now, I am left with having to purchase another full expense air fryer!!

    30 months disposable item

    worked for 30 months. customer service said it is under 1 year limited waranty and can't do nothing about it except suggesting to buy a new one.

    Product OK, 'instant' Pot company support bad

    Is good until its not. Handle requires a bit of pressure to push in and out. Plastic that holds the handle to the basket cracked after 3 years of moderate use. They refused to help replace it or repair it. Told me 'buy a new one'. Product is still in production... they could easily send me a new basket.

    Not sustainable

    The nonstick interior plate will chip and wear down and they don't even sell that part separately. So if you don't want to risk ingesting all that nonstick coating or whatnot, you have to drop another few hundred for another machine because they don't sell the part

    Handle Breaks and Tray Feet Bubbles

    We loved this air fryer until the handle screw mount was about to break off. Thankfully we recognized it and took it off before a hot pan fell on someone's feet. Moreover the tray feet bubble in heat and change color. Contacted support and they do not even have replacement parts. Very disappointed in the brand
