Q: Can you connect the the handheld part with the vacuum without using the middle pole to make it shorter to use on carpeted stairs? Will it work this way?
A: Yes. You can. It is somewhat heavy.

Q: How is this vac on carpet and rugs? I see praise for its performance on hard surfaces but not much on carpet.

Q: Is the “odor neutralizer” fragranced? If so, can it be removed and the vacuum used without it? We are highly sensitive to artificial fragrances.
A: Heavily fragranced. I placed it in BUT turned it OFF and my asthma and allergies got out of control. Still releases a smell. I removed the whole thing and still smells when vacuuming. I am returning it

Q: Can the brush rollers be turned off?
A: The rollers of the Shark PowerDetect HZ4002 cannot be turned off.

Q: Can this be safely used on LVP flooring?
A: This unit is designed for use on most hard floor surfaces and carpets. Therefore, it should have no issues working with this type of floor. However, it is important to note that the composition of LVP floors can vary among different brands and types. Therefore, we kindly recommend that you first test an isolated area of the surface to be cleaned and review the use and care instructions from your floor manufacturer.

Q: The Odor Neutralizer Cartridge smells too strong. I removed the whole thing. Still smells… what happens if the vacuum is used without the cartridge piece?
A: The odor dial cover needs to be installed for the vacuum to function properly. If you do not wish to use the odor neutralizer technology system, please follow the below steps: Remove the odor dial from the nozzle. Flip up the handle and rotate the dial clockwise until the two teal arrows are aligned. Pull the handle to lift the dial out of the nozzle. Remove the odor cartridge by rotating the cartridge counterclockwise in the dial housing and pull out the cartridge. Install the dial cover back into the nozzle without the cartridge. Align the teal arrow on the dial cover with the teal arrow on the nozzle, then reinsert the dial cover into the nozzle. To lock, rotate the cover counterclockwise until it clicks into place. Dispose of cartridge by dropping it in the trash.
