The scent is nice and light, it lathers well and cleans my scalp as well as washes away any product(s) I've used. It leaves my hair and scalp clean, without feeling irritated or dry. I've had a problem with dandruff and itchiness in the past but this cleansing shampoo does the job well.

The consistency of this cleansing shampoo just glides onto your head of hair and it gets rid of any pile up on your scalp & hair. I use this with the Pattern shampoo, conditioner and the Mixed cocktail ingredients of Pattern products to keep my curls looking refreshed.

My hair type was suffering with needing so much moisture and product that is was easier for me to keep my hair straight to keep it healthy. My forehead and skin also are not fans of the amount of product my curly hair needed to keep it looking good. Pattern has been the best product my hair has ever seen for it's natural state. Usually, with other products, my hair is dry and brittle 2 or 3 days after wash day no matter how many other products I put in it. It's been 5 days since using the Pattern Cleansing Shampoo for the fist time and my hair feels like day 1 after wash day! I also loved the Pattern website - it's the fist time I've ever been able to get so much feedback for which of their products to use based on my answers - instead of the usual alternative which is purchasing a ton of different products based on reviews, trending videos or other peoples recommendations based on their specific experience. Pattern has done an amazing job catering to each individual customer. Our hair is worth it!!

I have fine, high porosity, 2c/3a hair, and I purchased this expecting it to use as a regular shampoo in my hair vs. as a clarifier (given my hair type). I *think* I like this as a moisturizing shampoo, however I do feel like it moisturizes a bit too much to use it as an everyday shampoo without having to use a weekly clarifier (ironically). It’s very hard for me to see how this could work as a clarifier on any hair type. It also weighs my hair down quite a bit, which concerns me that it’ll cause my hair to fall out if I use it as a regular shampoo even with a clarifier. I also take partial issue with this hair care line being for curly hair, but them completely excluding 3a hair, a type of curly hair, from their products. It feels unnecessarily exclusive, especially considering the fact that other curly hair care lines like Curlsmith are so much more inclusive in recognizing the many different types, textures, and porosities of curly hair. That said, I highly recommend this shampoo for anyone with similar hair who isn’t necessarily concerned about scalp build up/worried about their hair being weighed down.

My hair has a lot a varying textures from 2c - 3b, is and about 40% gray. The non-gray is corse and very low porosity and the gray is wildly corse and slight higher porosity and it’s been a CHALLENGE to find out what my hair needs and then products the meet the varying needs - enter Pattern! I read thru the entire Curl Edu section, all the blogs, took the quizzes ( thank you for education, Pattern 🙌) and in the end selected the clarifying shampoo ( which is somehow cleansing and ACTUALLY moisturizing), the lightweight conditioner, the leave in conditioner and the curl cream. And when I tell you my hair has NEVER in my 44 years has my hair been this moisturized, juicy, full, bouncy, healthy or happy! I’m SOLD, a customer for life. Truly the Holy Grail. Also - the scent is delightful and I love that last for days. I even love the color/ design of the packing. Shipping was pretty fast as well. Zero complaints, bey
