Buyer beware…
Piece of JUNK Bought this vacuum to replace our other Shark that had worked flawlessly for 8 years - just wanted an upstairs and downstairs due to the amount of carpet out new home has compared to our other. Straight out of the box, first run, tried to vacuum the hallway (30 ft) can’t get halfway before it hits the red light and needs to be”cool” down Wait a day. Don’t use the power detector, just the carpet setting for a 10x14 room. Surprise surprise can’t even finish the room without the red light thermal Vacuum smells like it’s burning, both rollers are moving. Check for clogs like the online FAQ states. Clean and clear. It’s just a plastic piece of junk Don’t waste your money. shark used to be about affordable quality - now it’s just crap. Can’t wait to see how the 5yr warranty dog and pony show will go.

Disappointed long term customer.
I replaced a 10 year old Shark vacuum with this one. I loved my old one this new one not so much. I will say that it does have very good suction. That is where my love ends. The brush head is thicker than my old one and does not fit under some furniture. The electric cord is very stiff and cheap feeling, I’m sure it will develope cracks over time. The suction hose is too short and stiff. This makes it awkward to use the hand attachments without tipping the vacuum over or holding it with your free hand. As I stated the hose is stiff and it is helpful to use two hands to control the beast. The on/off and suction select switches are poorly positioned with zero thought put into actually using them or bumping them inadvertently. The upholtsery attachment pivot point does not have enough friction to keep it from flipping over if you move it side ways or at odd angles. I expected a lot more quality for the price paid. As I said earlier, I loved my old one for 10 years; I am incredibly disappointed in this new vacuum. If I could return it because I don’t like it I would, but I don’t think it should be Walmarts problem that I hate this vacuum. So I’ll continue to use it until I can afford another vacuum and send this one to the dump.

The dirt detect is not a very good function. Only had the vacuum for about a month and the dirt detect stop working properly. I kept it clean and maintained it properly. Had to reorder a new one and will be returning this one, hopefully this he next one doesn’t do the same thing. Wish there was no dirt detect i do however really like the floor and the side detectors, they work well.

Not good for dog hair
I have numerous shark products. Including 7 total vacuums (2 robots). This does not count the other appliances including 2 coffee makers, an air purifier, handheld mixer, blender and the ninja creami. I am sure I am missing something. Out of my countless vacuums this one is by far the worst one that I have had for pets. I had the previous model (which I still have and use) for pets that seems to work better than this one. My husband purchased this one for me for Christmas in 2024. I started using it about 8 months ago. I wanted to continue to use it before leaving a review. I have 2 German Shepards and I vacuum every day. I have to take off the roller at least one time during my daily vacuum to suck the hair off of the "comb" portion behind the roller. I have never had this issue with any of my other shark products.

I bought this 3 months ago, the quality of your vacuum cleaner have changed drastically and probably will never buy one again. Have purchased 3 of your vacuum cleaners over the years and this is by far the worst one every.

To many issues when trying to vacuum
Was excited to start using this . It did good sucking up what ever but that includes the cord, rugs, what ever. So this make it a major pain in the rear. I hate using this on rugs as it will always have issues and we have 3 different types. The power detect does not work very well at all. It keeps switching from floors to carpet when I vacuum the carpet. I have to always change it manually. Not what I bought it for. I would not buy this one.

Difficult to Manage
I am writing this review after several months of use. This is one of many shark/ Ninja products I own, the fourth vacuum; and honestly the one I am least pleased with. This vacuum has almost too much suction, making it very difficult to maneuver, (I am an average sized 54 year old female). the placement of the controls on the handle, to switch from Detect mode to straight hard floor/carpet is constantly being changed by my particular hand placement on the handle. the top cord holder is loose and cheap, making you struggle with wrapping up the cord. If you have the newer thin washable rugs, this will suck them right up and disable the vacuum. Our home is 98% hard floor, with only carpet on our step treads and throw/area rugs in strategic places, the volume of suction makes it very difficult to spot clean throughout the week. Honestly I regret this particular purchase.

Never going back to the “other” guy
I was a creature of habit and once I found something that worked I stayed with it and that was me and another popular vacuum. I also became a loyal ninja consumer once I bought my first blender about 17 years ago. I did dabble with shark when the steam cleaner came out, I still own, and use, the handheld purple one from years ago. But this is my first experience with shark vacuum cleaner and I can’t believe I waited so long! All of the features go beyond what I thought I needed, until this vacuum showed me I definitely did need! 1. The lights in the front showed every hair my furry friends leave on the hardwood floors. 2. My lower back didn’t hurt after using this vacuum, I didn’t have to twist and pull to get it to go the way I wanted, unlike the ball that ruined another brand. 3. Let me tell you about the odor neutralizer, WOW!! Even the cleanest dogs leave a “dog” smell in your vacuum and blow it back at you as you clean. Not with this vacuum, my home smells so fresh after vacuuming! 4. On the hardwood floors I loved how well it picked up the gritty bits my dogs bring in without spitting it back out at me 5. No bending over to switch from carpet to hardwood floors, this smart one knows what to do 6. The attachments are great and the best part is the lift off, no more carrying a heavy vacuum up the stairs 7. If you use attachments without liftoff I didn’t have the vacuum follow closely and trip me up, the hose is much more flexible but not flimsy by any measure! I know there are more things that I’m missing for right now but I think everyone should know I’m giving this vacuum 5 stars! Other brands, I think, have become complacent and just moved on from their vacuum once they perfected it. Not shark, they perfected and made it so amazing. They truly were listening to their customers and went above and beyond!

Terrible design for buttons on handle
I have had this vacuum for several years now. It is a great vacuum and has powerful suction. The reason forbthe 3 stars is the touch buttons on the handle sucks! If your hand barely touches one it changes the setting. I have to constantly keep changing it back to where it needs to be. Its worse when you clean a vehicle. And the hose is to short and stiff. Im fed up with it and now looking for a new vacuum.

Pops Breakers
I bought this about a month ago and the suction is great; However, it pops breakers all over the house. I can only use it in a couple of areas. I previously had a Shark vacuum that was not a Powerdetect and never had any issues. The first troubleshooting item is about this problem, so it’s obviously an issue.

Not for pet hair!
This vacuum is no where as good as my Shark navigator was! I purchased this one and gave my navigator to my niece and it still sucks up hair just like it did when it was new! Im so disappointed in this one and had it a little over a year and I hate it . I could have purchased 2 navigators for the price of this one! We have a Australian Shepherd and she sheds terrible and this vacuum does not pick up the hair like my navigator did. If you are looking for a good vacuum and have pets dont waste your money on this one, definitely get the navigator! I have had 2 navigators and this vacuum in 20 years and 3 dogs that shed a lot. Im going to purchase the navigator again!

Great vacuum, horrible power cord
The vacuum itself is great. Powerful, nice control. The problem with the vaccum is the power cord. It is stiff and hard to use. It gets caught on furniture. it's heavy and quite frankly makes me want to return the vacuum its so bad. This is not my first shark vacuum. Why did you have to change the cord?

Worst Vacuum ever
I have always lived Shark vacuums, until I got this one. I absolutely HATE it, as does my husband! It is so much work, heavy to move, constantly going on and off, not good on rugs, rolls up the pet hair,etc. etc. I would not recruit for anyone! It is definitely a piece of crap!! Worst vacuum I have ever had in my life!

Too heavy for anyone and not the best Shark!
We bought this a few months ago. I’ve used it 3 times. First, it’s too heavy for the regular person and especially those with light disabilities!!! Then add in the hard suction 1.) it makes it harder to push and pull back 2.) I worry my carpet is being loosened or damaged by the heavy suction and 3.) Due to the roller not have enough air space between it and the unit, it won’t pick things up very good and sometimes the tube gets clogged. The tank storage area is actually only 1/3 old the area of the take making it harder to clean all pet hair out AND fills up too quickly. When the tank fills the red light comes on the bottom and you have to clean it out too often BUT mine must have a defect bc the tank might have a little amount of dust and hair in it and red light cones on at times anyway and it automatically stops working. ALSO I cannot do my household rugs bc even the rug button / suction sucks up my rug while vacuuming. This Vacuum is not Shark worthy and we’ve own two of the purple lightweight uprights in past and they worked great and we will be looking to return this model for the ones like we’ve owned before.
