item is awful. power detect always reverts to another option on its own, smells, you can't find the replacement filters and odor neutralizer cartridge, they are always out of stock. I have to turn it off and back on to revert settings to start back to a powerful suction. I've had this product for 1 year now and it was not worth the $500 I spent on it.

I bought this brand and model after doing lots of research, as I have 4 dogs and want to get my carpets and furniture super clean. I just received mine and used it. Let me say, WOW! The power on this thing is AMAZING! I vacuumed half my carpet with my Dyson and the other with this and its amazing how much more it pulled up! I then went over the other half and pulled up more. Its already trying to fluff up the carpet thats matted. I already love this vacuum so much! I won't buy a different brand after using this one.

I’ve had better
I was hoping this would be better than the reviews, but I had to find out for myself. It keeps powering down when it thinks it’s clean. Believe me, it’s not clean. I could fill the container with pet hair multiple times going over the same areas in an hour with my last Shark. Tools keep falling off the storage pegs. Cord is stiff and a pain to deal with. Dirt receptacle is small. IMO, not worth the price. I’ve had better.

Never been so disappointed with shark and spent so much money
This thing is clunky, ruined our rugs, the "self cleaning" roller gets clogged all the time I can't vacuum my washable large area rug with it because its too thin and tries to vacuum it up. its ruined all the edges and corners of my rugs. its so heavy to do stairs with.the self roller clogs all the time with my hair and mt dogs hair.. at least I can see it clogged cuz all the hair sticks out. and this is the most expensive vacuum by far I have bought from shark.. so disappointed..

Perfect vacuum
I’ve had this vacuum for a little over a year now and out of the 3 vacuums I have had before, this one is by FAR the BEST. I love the accessories, I’ve never had any mechanical issues, it picks up dust, dirt, hair, cat litter, etc. SO WELL. I’ve never gotten any hair tangled in the brush roll and the first brush roll is so easy to take out and clean around that area.

Best decision ever!
Could not figure out why my house was so dusty when I was cleaning all the time. Thought I would see what Shark had to offer as Ii had tried everything else. Settled on this one after I read what it could do. It does not disappoint. I could see why I had to clean almost everyday after running this sweeper just 2 minutes. Couldn’t believe all the debris it was getting out of the carpet. Now I have put it thru several tests after having worked done in the house. It has not disappointed me once. Best investment I could have made. Love this sweeper it is making life easier.

Heads will fail
We had an az2002 model and wanted to upgrade. Vacuum was/is good. But the roller head has since broken twice in the 4 months of ownership. The first time warranty was good and covered it. But after another Month of use, the same issue where the large roller in the head fails to work. I'm not sure what's happening other than we have 4 dogs and put the vacuum to heavy use. In the 4years of owning the az2002, it's head only failed once. I do not recommend this vacuum since it's head is prone to failure. Furthermore, the auto detect fluctuates while on hardwood floor. It's not consistent.

Bummed out
I have had this vacuum for a year. I hate it. It’s heavy. The cord is so tight it never untangles. There is no suction offer so it eats every rug in my house. I had to buy a second vacuum just to clean my rugs. I’ve had two previous Shark vacuums. They were great. Bummed out over this model.

For years, I had my eye on a Dyson… you know that one product you keep thinking, “one day”? 😅 I actually had a Shark Vertex before and really liked it, but it eventually stopped working. So I finally worked up the courage and decided to invest in the Dyson I had been dreaming about. At first? It was amazing. Seriously—everything felt perfect. Powerful, sleek… I was in love. But then… after about a month, things started to go downhill. 😩 And honestly, that was frustrating—because it’s not exactly a cheap purchase. So I decided to go back to something I already trusted: Shark. And I got the Power Detect. And let me tell you… it completely exceeded ALL my expectations. Like—way better than I thought it would be. Powerful, efficient, easy to use… it’s one of those products that makes you think, “this is what I wanted all along.” I’m genuinely impressed. And I’m already calling it—my next purchase, if God willing, will be a Shark ice cream maker 🍦😂 Because if it’s even close to how good this vacuum is… I’ll be telling everyone about it!

LIABILITY RISK
My parents bought this and noticed the struggles but never did a review on it so here I am, it sucks its the worst vacuum to exist, It blows the fuses AS SOOOOON AS ITS TURNED ON, everytime i clean my room with that vacuum at least a hour is added on everytime with me having to go up and down two flights of stairs and walking to the complete opposite side of my house to keep resetting the fuse, and my mom also has it happen alot aswell. it overheats constantly, its always falling when I use the hose, it also makes the lights in some rooms strobe resulting in me cleaning in the dark because it can cause me to have seizures. fix the product or take it off shelves, its becoming a liability and lawsuits will happen most likely in the future from your products issues, i also tried to attach a video of it blowing the fuse but it wont let me put videos

I do not care for this vacuum model much when it picks the setting when vacuuming the suction drops real low and doesn’t pick hardly anything up but when I pick the setting for the vacuum, it picks plenty up, but sometimes it’ll switch back by itself. I don’t care for that at all. I think their best model was the shark stratos. This one is Not worth the money!!!

Constant maintenance, poorly engineered.
I've had this vacuum for 6 months and it is not stop maintenance to keep it functioning as is should. A big issue is with the dirt detect sensors. There are little "teeth" that sit in front of the sensors and hair constantly gets caught on them and then the hair floats in front of the sensors which causes it to always show it's dirty. Really bad design. Constantly cleaning that out. Then there are 2 rollers. The front one is removeable and you have to clean that a lot because hair builds up behind it on more "teeth" that are supposed to clean the roller. The rear roller is not removeable at all! So there is no way to clean any build up that accumulates in the housing above the roller. The edge detector feature is really slow to react, so by the time it senses you're next to a wall, you're already done vacuuming there. The 2 attachments for the vacuum that dock on the back are constantly falling off if you brush against something. It has good suction, but overall is a poorly engineered product. Not good if you have animals due to hair interfering with the dirt sensors as described above. For the price of the product, I regret this purchase.

Power is great. Features could be better!
I bought this about 1 month ago. I went from a Dyson to this. The power is awesome and am extremely happy with that. As for the rest of the cleaner, not so much. First of all, what's up with the stiff cord? Why would you make this cord be so stiff, for what reason? If you dare to tug on it because of the stiffness, it will come out of the plug in the wall. What's with the short hose? Why on earth would you make such a short hose which forces you to carry the canister because if you don't remove it the vacuum cleaner will fall over. And who in their right mind wants to deal with a canister when vacuuming the stairs? Dumb design. The other designs on this are ok. You really have to get used to its features. You definitely should make a longer hose that people could purchase if they choose to do so. I personally would.

Piece of crap
This vacuum is horrible, as are all shark products over the last couple of years, I have been sent about 4 different vacuums over the last year and on every single one the brush roll has stopped working after a couple of months, I’ve used shark products my entire adult life and they are just not as sturdy and dependable as they used to be unfortunately. They must have really lowered their standards on production, I’m so disappointed. The only good thing is the warranty is amazing but it doesn’t really help when I have to call and get a new vacuum every couple of months just to wait for it to break again.

Used product for less than 60 days and it's dead

powerful but heavy!
I bought this about a year and some ago. This thing is powerful and quality however, the one major con is how heavy it is. I don't have very good wrists, so I am giving this away. Also terrible with stairs. When you want to use this as a "stick" vac, beware that it is bulky and you will have to deal with holding and moving the canister with you almost every step of the way or it will topple over
