Q: My hair is fine and on the looser end of curly hair type. So like 3a to 3b and I was wondering if this product is good for me?

  • A: No, I also have fine, 3a to 3b, and oily hair. I tried it twice and I really didn't like how it felt. It weighed down the volume, heavy feel & curl shrinkage(I have long hair) except it really does give curl definition. I noticed some comments here don't like to scent but I do like it to be honest and not overwhelming. Lastly, I'm surprised hair loss. I'm not sure it's true. I might try it one more time. Just going to add less product for this product (pillow soft curls lotion) & jelly soft curls gel. I hope this help

    HEAVILY fragranced

    This product worked so great for my hair but the smell was unbearable. I was hoping it would dissipate as most do throughout the day, but it did not. It was so overpowering. I had to wash my hair out as soon as I got home because it was giving me a headache. It’s not a ‘bad’ smell but it’s like I bathed in fabric softener but not in a good way. Way too much, I had to return. That said, I’d absolutely be willing to give an unscented version a try if they ever release one! My hair looked and felt so healthy, hydrated and defined.

    I tried jelly curls first and I wish I had ignored the reviews! The smell is mild and my curls look amazing. I have pretty much full grey at 47 and it’s definitely made my waves WAY more curly.     Good Product but Overwhelmingly Perfumey!!

    The product works great. The only issue I had was the incredibly potent smell. It was as if I had marinated my whole self in Tide laundry detergent and Gardenias for hoursss. Multiple hair washes and multiple loads of laundry since and I still cannot get the smell out. It permeated everything I came into contact with. If you want to smell like a walking perfume bottle of your Grandma’s favorite flowers, more power to you. This is definitely not my cup of tea and I will not be purchasing again.

    The BEST!

    I love this product and I hope they never stop making it. I have extremely thick high porosity curls and I have finally found the routine that makes them look and feel great. I wash with the doux clarifying shampoo, follow with amika hydro rush conditioner, then in very small sections on dripping wet hair, I put a thin layer of Miss Jessie’s pillow soft from root s to ends, then a very thin layer of The Doux Mousse Def. I make one pass with a bounce curl style brush, and diffuse it dry. My curls come out soft, defined, bouncy, and shiny. I could leave out the mousse, but my hair is very prone to frizzing and I feel like it helps that. The smell of this product is VERY strong and reminiscent of fabric softener, so if you’re sensitive to scents this isn’t for you. I love the smell and get many compliments. As the week goes on, my curls do get frizzier and fuller but they still look great all the way up to wash day. Target does sell sample size packs of this so give it a try!

    idk what people are talking about with the smell... someone said 'old church lady perfume' um no it smells amazing like fresh clean laundry or something and as far as how well it works for the curls i give it 10000/10 if you don't have curly hair don't blame this product for not making your hair curlier its your own fault if you don't have tight curls the proof is in the pudding babe i have 3a curls
