this is the 4th time in two years im buying this item... while, I love it it works well bowk scraper comes in handy. it SMOKES? and upon buying it one time it straight from the start smelled like something was burning whenever I used it. i should have kept it to return but i wound up tossing it, afraid to have it in the house... once it started smoking.

Light duty. Not for heavy duty use.
I needed to shred rutabagas for fermenting and the blade seemed to be too flimsy. It bent down as I pushed the food through the shoot. There is a significant gap between the lid and the shredding blade leaving a lot of unshredded food stuck between them. I plan to return it for a heavier duty model. Would probably work well for less heavy duty use.
