Second time around!
We bought one for ourselves and loved it. Bought a second one for our parents to have the same fantastic brew at family meals.

First Grinder Experience
This is my first grinder and it is very good. It is not as quite as the description and reviews mentioned but it is okay. This is very heavy and solid built as soon as you open the box you will feel the sturdiness of the grinder. The grind is very consistent and happy with it.

Rail in the third use
The grinder got stuck and no coffee was coming out the bottom. I could hear it grinding, but nothing was coming out. I carefully removed the accessories and managed to clean it. I wasn't happy about this. Additionally, I haven't been able to get the grind to a good consistency (25-30 seconds and 36g of coffee) in my also new Fellow Series 1 coffee maker.

Good grinder
We've had the Opus Grinder for about 3 weeks now. It is a good looking, high quality grinder that consistently makes excellent grounds. The grind has many different settings for fineness -- probably too many to tell the difference (although we are trying). We wish the grind time settings were as adjustable as the grind. The 30-60-90 second intervals either under grind for the bean volume or spin empty for several seconds

Great Purchase
Bought the Ode Gen 2 Grinder as part of an Aiden Bundle. What a great purchase. Easy to use and consistent grinder with a small amount of retention. The package of Aiden and Ode Gen 2 is a great modern coffee making environment.

Don’t buy this grinder
Piece of crap. It broke after the first use with absolutely horrible instructions. There are far better grinders available everywhere. The tea kettle is great, so I had hopes but uggghhhh.

What an upgrade!
Received this grinder a couple weeks ago, and I am so very happy i upgraded. Love the recommended grind settings for pour-overs, drip, and french press... so far they have been spot on. The recommendations on dosing are also pretty dang good. Okay, so for the blender, consistency of grind is spot on, and it's so quiet!!! no longer is my wife shunning my morning routine, nor are the cats fleeing the kitchen before breakfast... subtle, audible yes, but much more subtle than my previous grinder. It does what it needs to do and it does it quite well! love this grinder... looking at an espresso machine next...

If Only it Ground Espresso
Great grinder for drip brewing, but do I really need a second grinder for espresso? Yes, I do, and it's holding me back from buying the new Fellow espresso machine. Will stick with my Breville Barista with a built-in espresso grinder for that need.

perfect
We’ve been using this fine piece of equipment daily for a week and love everything about it! Looks perfect next to our Fellow coffee brewer and just “wakes us up” in the morning with the smell of a real great cup of coffee!

Perfect grind
I love the way it grinds my coffee. I do not like the fact that the a good portion of the ground coffee doesn’t drop into the cup and I have to tap the grinder gently on the counter to get it to come out.

Better timer please.
The grind results are good, but the grind times being limited to 30 second increments is poor. Low end grinders have timers that increment by seconds. I have to weigh and put the exact amount of beans for every cup or pot I make. Add a better timer and I will love the grinder.

Great Grinder with some flaws
A very precise grinder but the residue left from each grind is more than it should be with a grinder at this cost.

Good overall
I got the opus so I could have a grinder that grinds fine enough for espresso. It does work well and has a good range of settings! The cons are the lack of instructions about the inner ring, I had to look them up on YouTube. And the mentions about the retention are true, I just work around it and use the lid as a bellows and hit the top to shake things out. It is quieter than my baratza encore! I love the magnetic catching container and how it empties great into a portafilter and aero press.

Like it
I have been using my Opus grinder for a couple of weeks and am just now finding the best settings and how to use it. My only problem was that I had it jam and when I went through the steps in the manual I encountered difficulties. I couldn’t get the top grinder to release when I grasped the wire lifter and turned. I got it All clear after using a brush through the bottom… lots of knocking it to jar the grounds loose. Not sure why the jam happened but working great now!

(no review title)
Please please have someone call me. I got my OPUS last week and it won’t grind the beans. My ODE 2 has been amazing for almost a year. But so so sad I can’t use my ODE 2 to grind my espresso for my New Series 1. So I’ve waited since I orders in the Summer and though all the delays for my fabulous Series 1 and have not been able to use it ;( I’m happy to take this review down once I get this resolved. Just very frustrated I can’t speak w someone other than AI. Thanks so much

Low Quality. Do Not Buy.
Honestly, I love everything Fellow - except for this grinder. I have owned 2 and both have been low quality, poor grind consistency, quickly dulls, low quality build/lack of durability. Wait for a 2.0.

Glad I Made the Purchase
I upgraded from 10 years with a low budget hand grinder. The quality of construction seem high. So much quieter than my old grinder. Cups of coffee have been markedly better and surprisingly consistent with French press. I’m still learning to do pour over.
