  • A: There is a place for the battery on the bottom of the clock. Note that while it is on battery backup, the time will not display, so as not to use up the battery. However, it will hold the time and alarm settings even though you don't see a display.

  • A: I do not recommend this clock. It is big (7 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 3 1/2). It has very big red numbers, which flash whenever the power goes off. No battery can be attached, so your wake-up time is gone unless you reset everything from default.

  • A: No, not very well. I'm very nearsighted, and the numbers are big but they are faded at every joint which defeats the purpose of the big letters. It looks like a blob of orange. I have to squint hard to make out the numbers because of the fading.

    The clock hummed, numbers not illuminated equally

    I can hear the clock. It is not silent. The illumination of the numbers is not solid, brighter in the center of each line and then it fades a bit, thus difficult to read at a distance. Returned the clock.

    low buzzing

    simple to set, good size for visibility, but has a low buzz. If you have insomnia or need it to be totally silent to fall asleep it could really get annoying, but it's low enough that it may not bother most people.

    Air traffic control

    The brightness of the red light is absurd. You could land a plane with this clock. Our old Sharp clock broke and I replaced it with this one. The old one was half as bright and didn't feel half as cheap. I'll be shopping for a new one that isn't so intense. The entire room glows red and the intensity defeats the point of the sleep friendly red light.

    Unreliable :/

    Design was fine. The alarm was obnoxious, which is fine given it's purpose I suppose lol, but I heard it once and turned it off forever because it was so unpleasant. This turned out to be a good thing, because after being plugged in for less than 2 months, the time is now wrong. Accurate last night, but the time is currently 11:30pm and the clock now says 5:43am. I'm glad I wasn't relying on this alarm clock to wake me up for work, because I'd be suddenly be waking up awfully early.
