Poor quality
This is terrible. Cheese gets stuck in it and doesn’t grate. The cheese doesn’t shoot out the way it is supposed too either. I have to unclog it several times during grating. Don’t recommend.

I bought this machine specifically to help me cut collard greens thin and evenly, hoping it would make meal prep easier and faster. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the results. No matter how I try, I cannot get consistent, straight, or even cuts. The greens come out uneven, tangled, and not properly shredded the way I expected. I spent time trying different techniques, but it still does not perform as advertised or as I needed for fine slicing. For something marketed as a time-saving kitchen tool, it has actually added frustration instead. I expected clean, uniform cuts for collard greens and similar leafy vegetables, but this machine simply does not deliver that level of precision. For the price and purpose I bought it for, I regret this purchase and would not recommend it for anyone specifically trying to achieve thin, even cuts of leafy greens

I absolutely love the KitchenAid Fresh Prep Slicer/Shredder Attachment! It makes shredding cheese so quick and easy compared to doing it by hand. It saves a ton of time, works great, and cleanup is pretty simple too. Definitely one of my favorite kitchen attachments.

Not sturdy enough
I received this as a gift in 2021, but have only really used it for the last year or so for shredding cheese. The plastic chute broke off of base while I was using it, so now it is completely unusable.

Makes shredded a breeze
Excellent product until the feeder detached from the body of the shredder. I hand wash as suggested and yesterday while washing it the clear feeder tube fell back into the sink. Wondering if I should super glue it back on - not sure what to do to repair it because otherwise it is just fine. I got this for Christmas 2025 and have only shredded cheese so far.

I have had my KitchenAid mixer for at least 30 years. I use it almost everyday. I have several attachments but I have lost the part that holds the blades for the grinder. I ground chicken before the stores even thought of it. Made cubed steaks before people realized you could bread them like fried chicken and many other uses. I just need to find the cap for my grinder.

Plastic is JUNK
Plastic is literally just glued together and it breaks right off. I should have read the reviews right away but I didn’t. Mine seems to have made it much longer before the inevitable plastic breakage, but short of a year I thought I was the only one so went to the reviews to see that everyone had a similar experience. You’d think when you spend that much on a cheese grater, SOME attention to quality might go in to it but I guess not. Save your money, get a crank one from tj maxx for 15.00 and go thru a few of those. You’ll be happier. Flings cheese everywhere so my dogs get most of it anyway. Waste of money.

Terrible product - no matter what you try to shred - Cheese - butter - apples it plugs up. You have to take it apart, clean it out and start again. Also - clean up is terrible when shredding cheese! The only thing worse is using my grandmothers hand shredder!

Not as good as I thought it would be
I was seduced by the marketing. It does not grate onions, is slow and heats up the machine. Lining up the feeder is also difficult. Less than impressed.

Love these attachments! I was worried about how well they would hold up and if they would really work because the way they attached to the stand mixer did not look very sturdy. But everything works great! I don’t use the attachments very often, maybe once every other month, but I’ve been using them for over five years now and they still work great. It‘s also a lot easier to clean than using my food processor for shredding/slicing things. The only thing I do not like is that the shredded food flings out all over the place if you use a higher speed. I have to hold my mixing bowl right at the opening of the shredder to catch everything with one hand, while feeding the item I want to shred with the other. Sometimes I just use a big mixing bowl with high sides. And because they attach as an extension to the stand mixer, you need a lot of counter space for the stand and the bowl. Also, the shredded food will sometimes pack inside the shredder if I’m not paying attention. I have to use a thin spatula to keep the shredded foods moving sometimes. Still, I love these attachments!

I got this for Christmas and I'm going to try to get a refund. You have to turn the mixer up to max 10 and then push the cheese in so hard it gives you an arm work out. It also flings cheese everywhere because you have to have it running so fast to get it to shred anything. I tried Colby Jack and it was horrible, Parmesan, which cause it's a harder cheese I thought would be better. Still sucked. And then I tried to get it to shred an onion and it was a nightmare. Do not waste your time on this attachment.

Dont waste your money - short warranty
I agree with another reviewer on here the plastic parts only last a handful of uses before they break. I wish I could get a replacement but am our of warranty by only 2 months. If they replaceed my unit ans had a longer warrantly rhen this would be worth it. Update: The responses you see below are fake. I responded with my product information, issue, and purchase details with no response even after mutiple follow-ups. Don't waste your time because theg wont respond.
