A: It comes with it's own battery. It charges by being plugged into an outlet, the toothbrush charges by being on the stand via wireless charger. Hope this helps!

A: I’ve had mine for 12 years and the same battery is still charging on the charger.

A: Ditto about having for 12 years, only ours are probably closer to 18-20 years without any problems whatsoever! Finally the batteries, (built in & permanent), and only just recently, began taking longer to charge and holding less power, thus buying new. Otherwise, they just never die. Zero complaints on our part. Just be sure to replace your brush every three months!

A: Mine does have a light that flashes red when it starts to get low. Not sure what the “expert” is talking about lol

A: Yes it does! It flashes RED when it needs to charge for about 30 secs after brushing. It also flashes GREEN while charging.

A: Yes-- I use the BJs brand that is compatible with Oral-B and they work just fine.

A: For maximum battery life, we recommend following this routine. (1) Fully charge the handle for the time recommended in the brush manual instructions. A: That would mean having to wait for 24 hours to recharge and use it again. I think I'll take my chancees and use it for a while, then place it on the charger again until it's recharged.

A: According to Oral B you may leave on charger but recommend at least every 6 months to fully discharge to prevent issues related to battery memory and extends the overall lifespan of the NiCad battery

A: My old Oral B toothbrush was quieter and gentler, too, but not as effective, I think (though I loved it and got excellent checkups). I guess that's the trade-off.

A: NYT Wirecutter tested the Oral B 1000 at 35 decibels and did state a little louder than 1500 that tested at 31 decibels

A: The brush is easy to remove, and you can buy extra brushes for the other people to use.

A: But you can switch out the brush head (removable) for each person.

A: The Pro 1000 only comes with one brush head.

A: If you have a transformer that converters your electrical service to 120 volts, then you can use it.

A: No. The charger only works with 120 VAC (eg US). I tried to use one in Europe with a plug converter (not a transformer) and that broke it.

A: Oral-B electric toothbrushes contain either a nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery or a lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery. NiMH batteries have a nominal voltage of 1.2 V; the Li-Ion battery has a nominal voltage of 3.6 V. The Pro Crossaction 1000 Brush has a NiMH (Nickel-metal hydride) battery.

A: Yes, all Oral-B electric toothbrushes are waterproof, so it is fine to use them in the shower. However, we don’t recommend immersing your brush in water. We recommend making sure that you completely dry the handle after use and before charging.

A: I never tried it but I wash mine off under the running faucet every time I use mine. The case appears to be sealed so as long as the case isn't damaged you can.

A: Yes but its a monumental waste of water and energy to heat that water. Even worse than leaving the water running while brushing.

A: Probably the scale in the water and residual water and toothpaste stuck in the nooks and crannies and under 5be brush head. I shake off and dry the entire wand with a towel after removing the head and do the same with the head and store it off the wand between brushing.
