Beware of the mold...
Super bummed with this toothbrush. I am really good at removing the head every other day to clean and dry under it. After doing this one morning, I found mold growing at the base of the toothbrush head and inside- in the area on the handle that attaches to the brush head. Because of the design, it's really hard to clean and I have to figure out how to soak it or what tool will fit to try to get the mold out. It's gross and I'm reluctant to want to use this brush ever again. I like the old style of brush heads. I never had this problem in all my years with my other electric brushes or my water flosser (all in my current home). Beware of the mold.

I cannot brush my teeth while wearing clothes bc of how bad this thing drips. All gunk gets caught in the crevices; you just can’t get it clean. Throwing it away now that it’s growing mold (despite fully disassembling to clean it after every brush).

I’ve had this for 5 months now and inside the toothbrush is now growing mold. After consulting online, I’m not the only one to have this happen. Absolutely unacceptable for the price of this. I would not buy again and now I can’t return it because it’s outside of the 90 days.

Gets moldy
I’ve used this toothbrush for about four months. Tonight, I tapped it on the counter to get the excess water off of it and black mold started coming out from underneath the head. Absolutely disgusting. I used to have a much more expensive toothbrush, and when it went out, I thought I would get one around this price range. I am so grossed out. Back to a more expensive product I go. This one also doesn’t like my teeth near as good as a more expensive one does. Also the color has scratched off of it in places.

Even with rinsing after each use, toothpaste can harden over time, creating a chalky coating that may appear black, brown, orange, pink, or grey, depending on your toothpaste and water hardness. To help prevent this issue, we recommend rinsing the brush head thoroughly while the toothbrush is switched on. Next, remove the brush head and thoroughly rinse the brush head and handle, and wipe dry with a clean soft cloth. Poor Design is Unhyiengic
Poor design- there is a gap between the base of toothbrush head and the body of the toothbrush, making it impossible to keep clean. Within two days of using of using there is an odor due to the bacteria that build up in this area. Sadly, this design is worse than previous models of Oral B brushes and I wish I would have kept my older model (Oral B Pro 650).

All of our electric toothbrushes are designed to make cleaning easier; nothing can get inside and would cause an unpleasant odor. Rest assured buildup is not harmful and can be easily removed with thorough cleaning, and we suggest trying our tips to avoid possible bacteria growth. After brushing, thoroughly rinse the brush head while the toothbrush is switched on. Then after rinsing, switch the brush off, remove the brush head from the handle, and clean both parts separately under running water. Wipe both the handle and brush head dry (with a soft towel) and leave them to air dry completely before putting them back together. If necessary, it is OK to use a mild detergent/cleanser and water to clean the outside of the handle. We’d love the opportunity to learn more. Worthless instructions
Brand new - just out of box. Instructions are worthless; non-existent. How long to charge? When is it charged - when light is on or off? What do different pictures mean for modes? How long does a battery last? ZERO usage instruction info on OralB website - ZERO!

To answer your questions, this brush has a 24 hours charge time but a 4 week battery life when brushing for 4 minutes a day. The charging light near the on/off switch blinks green while charging. Once fully charged the indicator light turns off. If the battery is running low, the light blinks red after switching the brush off. The three modes for this brush are: Super Sensitive, Gentle, and Daily Clean. You can tell what mode you're on based on the rpm. Would not recommend at all. Had mold all in the toothbrush after only 2 months of using it and it is not cleanable the mold ain’t even reachable and all I use is electric toothbrush’s I’ve never had this problem before

We are sorry for the difficulty you're describing, Mel. To keep your Oral-B iO 2 brush head and handle clean after brushing, rinse the brush head under running water while the handle is still on. Try switching the handle to the most intense setting; this could help water clean out those nooks and crannies. Then, switch the handle off, detach the brush head, and rinse both separately under running water, making sure water runs inside the top of the handle and brush head. Wipe everything down with a soft cloth before reassembling, ensuring the brush head is fully pushed onto the handle with no gap. Store your toothbrush upright to air dry. Need more help? Best value toothbrush!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toothbrush is excellent! Its easy to use, does a great job at cleaning, and is simple. It also looks very nice on the counter! The battery life lasts a while and its never died on me since I keep it in the port when I am not using it. My family has even asked me about it and I have told them about it!! I love it! Overall, its a great value for money and a smart purchase if you want to invest in your dental health.

Problems with IO brush.
Been using Oral b's for awhile New to the IO model. I understand the red light indicates when brushing too hard, but I can't see it unless brushing the back of my top teeth. Other models had a slight vibration when brushing too hard. Also the battery just dies without warning. Other models would beep when done indicating the battery needs to be charged. A heads up to needing to be charged. The brush head does not last three months, probably because I am brushing too hard since I can't see the red light.
