Easy to use
It is much simplier to use then previous coffee maker that only lasted a few months. It makes a good cup of coffee. Having my first right now. The only thing I didn't like was the description they gave. Said it used pods and grounds. I had just bought a box of pods, when other coffee maker broke. When I got today it had a box with a line through for pods. That is ok though, my husband said to me just take coffee out of pods. I did that tonight and all is well. I didn't waste my money on the pods. But I believe that description should be worded correctly, I checked today and another company had same description.

Scary Plastic Smell
Was happy to find a pod free single serve coffee maker, but this one unfortunately had to be returned. I was extremely alarmed by the overpowering plastic smell while brewing coffee. Even after cleaning it and several uses, the smell never really went away. I was even more concerned that the tank is non removable molded plastic. No where on the box, manual, or machine does it state that this machine or components are BPA free. So in a nutshell, you are drinking heated up plastic infused water! The only way to clean the machine is to use a damp cloth, as it is all one piece (except the grounds basket and removable filter under that). This made me worry that over time if you try to deep clean it the electrical components may be affected. I was also under the assumption that this would fill my standard size travel mug, but fell short. The tank does hold the 14oz it claims to, but a standard travel mug is 16oz. Overall this product seems unsafe, and I will be sticking with my french press.

Love but...
I like the size, color, and functionality of having two levels for small and large cups. I love that I don’t have to close a coffee pod with the Keurig we had. I will say it is rather annoying (to my husband) that it takes four minutes (which doesn’t seem like a long time but when you just wake up and compared to a Keurig it is) for it to brew a cup of coffee. I like Hamilton Beach products and I liked that it was half of the price of other brands but I guess you get what you pay for.

Same Issue as Other Comments
This coffee maker is a great idea. I use pour-over. This makes a good tasting cup of coffee without the hassle of using a filter for every cup. The problem is the spatter. I uploaded a photo. This is not a small cup in the photo. Even with medium-tall cups, the spatter is on the back of the maker as well as the counter-top. The benefit of not cleaning pour-over cones is much outweighed by the need to clean up the spatter after each cup of coffee using this scoop maker. If they could solve that problem, I'd buy it again. I am returning this one.
