    Great Health Monitoring and Tracking

I am a 79 year old competitive cyclist and purchased the Vivoactive 5 to track my fitness and workouts from my Edge 540 through Garmin Connect. This has been one of the best investments I have made. Because of the 24/7 health data monitoring I was able to identify a health issue which could have been serious. The ability to observe the trends in my health data following cycling workouts and recovery allowed me to identify that I was experiencing periods of AFib. Because of this I was able to take early actions to prevent this from becoming more serious. I really appreciate the integration of Garmin devices through Garmin Connect.

    Update from a VivoActive 3

I had a VivoActive 3 and do like the VivoActrive 5 better. It has more vivid colors, it was compatible with my favorite watch face "Rails". It seems brighter but I used to use the 3 for a night light walking through a dark room, but the new one doesn't work for that. The old one I charged once a day, the new one goes about 4 days between charges. The 3 used to use 7% of batteries on walks, the 5 only uses 3%. It doesn't keep trying to change watch faces like the 3 did. Not sure I like the morning update feature. I would like to be able to set the Oxygen sensor to check levels once every 10 minutes during the day along with the night monitor.

Super wonderful product!! I am so satisfied with all the features and the quality is amazing. My favorite feature is that the battery life is great as well as the fact that it tracks how much weight I lift. Would definitely recommend if you are into weightlifting and exercise.

    Great smart watch!

After about 4 years I replaced my (original) Garmin Venu with this Garmin Vivoactive 5. I was a little sceptical because this watch was quite a bit less expensive, and I was hoping that it would like it as much as the Venu. I wanted mainly a large heart rate display during activity, an alarm, and sleep monitoring. After I personalizing the Vivoactive I couldn't be happier! I was able to download my spotify playlists onto it and do not need my phone during my workouts anymore. It is slightly thinner than the Venu and makes it more comfortable wearing it during sleep. The display looks great, and the watch has all the features I wanted and exceeded my expectations.

    Glad I bought it.

Bought this about a month back, when my VivoActiv 3 finally died. I had found that one mildly useful, but never got into beyond the basics. The 5 is so much better, better display, better usability, everything I had imagined a smart watch "should" be. So, I like it a lot.

    Love This Watch!

This is my fourth vivoactive fitness watch (1, 4, and now 5). As a runner and triathlete, I've used the vivoactive watch to train for four half marathons over the past three years. From triathlon training to golfing to pickleball to walking, this watch does everything I need to help me train, stay active, and make it easy to see notifications from my iPhone. Love my vivoactive 5 fitness watch!

    Vivoactive 5 love it

I have had several Garmin watches, vivo active 4, Swim 1, 2, several triathlon watches and have gifted other to my friends and family members. Garmin is always great quality and the extra's keep going up. I was using the Vivoactive 4 to this and the battery was starting to drain down so I jumped up and bought the next line up and am amazed how much better it is then what I had! Everything is so quick, great battery life, heart rate never stops. I am currently recovering from a severe car accident and it is great to share the information with my PT trainers, doctors, and just to keep track of my recovery and my improvement. The watch is perfect for my training schedule and connects to my phone and computer with ease! I can't say how pleased I am and how I'm a Garmin client for life!

    Vivo 5 Upgrade

I upgraded from a Vivoactive HR to the Vivoactive 5 because I liked the fact that it had a much longer battery life and had more functions such as an alarm and timer which were lacking in myprevious version.

    I HATE this watch!

There's a code I can hardly read and is even harder to enter in order to log into some of the features. The watch face is hard to read, and the date isn't on the main face. My last watch was a forerunner, and I loved it, but the band broke in a way that can't be fixed.

    No more altimeter :(

I have been wearing a vivo since the 3, and was excited to get this “upgrade” to a 5. The bright display is great, yep. The loss of the altimeter is not great, however, and unfortunately I have returned the watch. It’s not in the 6 either. The “fix” I was given was that I could view the altitude after the activity in the app, however elevation is something I check during the activity, not after. Huge bummer, Garmin.

    Barimetric Altimeter was removed

I have a Vivoactive 4 and felt the Vivoactive 5 would be an upgrade with a longer lasting battery. I went skiing with it the first day and saw that it did not keep track of runs. On further investigation I found out it does not have an altimeter like the 4 has so it is useless to me for skiing and biking. I returned it. In the future I would recommend to Garmin that when you release an updated model you don't remove key features.

    Great Features

I bought this about 3 weeks ago and I am glad I did. I owned a Garmin before. I had it several years and it stopped working. I tried a cheaper brand which was awful, so I switched back to Garmin. I like that it has its own GPS and doesn't need to connect to my phone during my workout. I like that the face is big enough to show distance, pace, heart rate and over all time at one glance. No need to switch back and forth between faces.
