Q: Does this machine have problems with use; due to the double coffee feature? Especially if one feature (American Coffee, vs Expresso) is used more than the other? Does it have a warranty??
A: there are no problems with the use of this model EM-1040-I. It is very easy to use. American coffee (left side) is simple - just add water and coffee grounds and turn on and it will brew a pot of coffee for you. For the Espresso side, you need to load espresso grind coffee in the basket holder and place on the machine. Then you can select a 1 shot or 2 shot size. These are programmable so you are able to change at any time. However it is also easy to use. The unit comes with a 1 year warranty from the factory if anything should go wrong. There is also an after sales service assistance if you have any questions when using to help you if you have any questions.

(Please note that they cannot be used simultaneously.) The machine is a workhorse and is meant to be used frequently. Yes the product has a one year limited warranty. Please see the following review which was posted on Target.com. Spectacular Thermoblock Combination Espresso & Drip Coffee Machine a year ago Thrilled with this Espressione Thermoblock Espresso Machine Used it first at a friends home and it was "love at first sight" with the sleek design and gleaming stainless steel body (not sprayed plastic parts as I've owned before). The machine works great with either E.S.E. espresso pods or traditional ground espresso coffee. Produces a rich crema which is piping hot. Performance is great. Price reasonable. Needed assistance in getting started properly (as I did not read the instructions) and found their service center informative and patient. It's necessary to prime the pump before use. In order to produce an espresso coffee after frothing/steaming the milk, you must permit the temperature of the thermoblock to cool down. This can be sped up if you let out steam and water through the steam tube until only hot water comes out. This process cools the temperature of the thermoblock down so that you can make additional coffees. Espressione Service Center were very helpful. Highly recommend.

Q: Have they finally replaced the coffee pot with one that doesn't dribble which seemed to a large complaint?
A: YES. The pouring spout is wider and this issue has been corrected

A: no, these have removable water tank that needs to be filled

A: No it does not. Use traditional ground coffee or E.S.E. Coffee pods.

Q: Is the Espresso machine made for 2 or 4 espresso's? We had a machine that had a 4 cup espresso capacity and its been hard to find another. Most are 2 cups.
A: This product with a "single-shot" filter and a "double-shot" filter. Thus you can realistically pull two shots or two espressos at a time. This is the maximum possible with any semi-automatic thermoblock espresso machines. A steam unit can prepare four cups, but experts do not consider this to be a proper espresso!

Q: What kind of filter does this machine use? Any recommendations on a reusable mesh filter?
A: Please use a Melitta #4 (or equivalent) paper filter. A reusable mesh filter should work, but it could also could have a disadvantage as reported by coffee-makers-guide.com which says "Now, this one is actually a disadvantage: permanent coffee filters tend to let through some fine grains or dust of the coffee into your pot, so you may have some grit sitting at the bottom of your last cup of the brew." Q: If you se the espresso side to make a cup of coffee, is it strong like espresso or does it taste like a regular coffee?
A: The left side of the machine is for American drip coffee The right side of the machine is a pump espresso machine You will uses espresso ground coffee and can make a ristretto (short and strong) espresso or an americano ( more water and not as strong) The machine will let you make any drink you can think about

Thus you can put in any quantity of coffee that fits into the coffee filter. Therefore, you determine the strength of the filter coffee! Q: can you program it to make coffee automatically in the morning?
A: No this product is no programmable. You can purchase an independent timer which would work.
