  • A: This happened to me. Thought my 2 yr old fridge was leaking from the freezer/ice dispenser. Woke up several times with my newly installed LVP floors soaked. Almost had a $200 fridge repair when I found out this pitcher leak was common. Issue is the gasket isn't sealing well when using the level. Reddit users recommend after dispensing water to let the lever "snap back" vs gently releasing. Honestly this did the trick. Saved a $200 fridge repair tech visit but sadly messed the new flooring up.

  • A: Not publicly addressed. Purchased this in 2025. Leaked within a few weeks. Thought it was my fridge & almost had a $200 repair bill for tech to come out. Reddit users cited a gasket issue & suggested to let lever snap back after dispensing. That actually worked for me but after a week of thinking my fridge was leaking on my newly installed flooring.

  • A: Hi there, Gilbert. We're sorry to hear you had trouble removing the reservoir of our Brita Ultramax Dispenser, and we'd like to give you a few tips. Using both hands, pull the reservoir up from the housing evenly on all sides. If you have any difficulty, try placing your dispenser on the counter. As it warms to room temperature, the tank will expand a little then the reservoir will be easier to remove. Another option is filling the dispenser with water, then turning it upside down in your sink. The pressure of the water should cause the reservoir to separate from the housing.   • A: You're lucky you get two weeks out of a filter! I switched from Brita almost 20 months ago because I had bad tasting water immediately from Brita filters. It was strange because I had been using Brita for a long time and then it was like the manufacturer changed something with the filters. I tried buying them in different places and nothing seemed to make a difference. I ended up switching to Pur and have had no issues.

    Good Until It's Not

    I bought this in Sept. 2024 and it lasted me until March 2026. Found a puddle in my fridge due to the spigot leaking. Unfortunately, it’s not repairable either. Bummer. I loved it but don’t want to be replacing it every 1.5 years.

    LEAKS! DO NOT BUY!

    Has the typical leak problem. Worked well for a month, consistent leaking from the spigot ever since. No amount of tightening, adjusting, etc can fix it. Very disappointing, and wish I had read the reviews before buying. Everyone seems to have a huge problem with leaks from the dispenser models.

    Not good

    Worked great and then after about a month or two started leaking. It leaks a lot, we have woken up to the floor soaking wet multiple times now. We have to angle it into the kitchen sink. Very frustrating

    Caution: Leaky water dispenser

    I purchased Brita dispensers before. One lasted years (it was a different model). This one, lasted ~5-6 months. Now it leaks all over the fridge. We can’t use it unless you want to clean out your fridge every day. Very frustrating.

    Constant Leaking

    I have had this for over a year. I really like the capacity but it started leaking more and more overtime. It used to just leave a small puddle but now we have to keep a cup under it at all times and it leaks cups of water a day. Flooded the shelf beneath it when i left for the weekend This product has gone up in price by nearly 25% since I bought it a year and four months ago. There is no reason for them to be raising the price on a product with this big of an issue

    Dont waste your money...

    I was so excited for this item because I wouldn’t have to keep refilling a regular pitcher but we only had it for a few months and the nozzle leaks water all down the shelves of my fridge door and it’s constant a mess. Having a towel to soak up the water was not in my plan when buying this product especially for the price it is, I thought it would be of better quality.

    Works great

    Easy to use, easy to clean the first time (easier than the pur brand), filter works nice, even at the first level filter. Wish it had bigger handles to carry, and wish they had a way to fill it without having to remove it from the fridge shelf- when you pour in from another pitcher the angle makes it so you must remove it halfway due to the top door.

    Misleading - Standard NON-Brita Filter - the only reason it's cheaper

    WOW. How deceptive. The REASON this is cheapter is because they AREN'T using a BRITA FILTER. They put a regular likely poor quality filter. I mean wow. Talk about corporate manipulation to make a few extra bucks. Disgusting.

    Do NOT buy!!

    Terribly made. Filter doesn’t actually fit into the dispenser so water just spills all around the sides which makes the whole thing useless. Complete waste of money.

    Leaks

    I have had this brita for about 6 months and it started leaking. It made a mess and would leak down each shelf in my fridge. I ended up throwing it away and will purchase a pitcher instead.

    Choose another brand.

    This seemed like a better solution than the pitcher we had, which was supposed to look nice, but the double layer of colored plastic just gets nasty & you can't clean it, but it has turned out to be worse. For starters the thing makes a ton of racket when you slide it out to fill your glass, or the pitcher itself; since I don't have a place where it can just hang off constantly and not block the door. The biggest issue is leaking. We had it for several months, & it started leaking from the spigot / spout. At first a little, but now a lot if you don't wiggle the spigot tab just right. I had to pull both crisper drawers recently and clean a lake of water out of the bottom of the fridge. You CAN get it to stop, if you pull the tab forward, then push all the way back, and then go back and forth slightly several times, but you shouldn't HAVE to do this. There is obviously an issue with the mechanism inside not sealing correctly & it shouldn't be this difficult to get water. If it was full & we were gone for a few days there would be over 1.5 gallons of water in the fridge, probably on the floor & possibly down the cooling vents on the bottom, which would be a catastrophe. Until Brita starts offering solutions here, instead of saying 'just contact us' then I'd stay clear of this dispenser. I know they don't want to admit there's a problem in a public forum, but at some point you have to own the mistake instead of trying to quietly handle each issue.

    Cheap Plastic Garbage

    Bought one in July, already cracked at the base in multiple places. Don't waste your money. Also, the only good filters for these are $25 each and only last a month. I wish I had my money back
