Sent it back
Our old 4 slice toaster lasted 10 years before it stopped holding the toast position. This new one only caught fewer than 10 times before it stopped engaging the toast position.

Didn't live up to it's name.
Purchased this toaster less than a year and 1/2 (two slots) no longer work. I have been a very faithful customer for many years. Truly disappointed. Strong stainless steel outside / junk inside. Tried to enter ck box to receive email... to no avail.

Not the Cuisinart of old
Cheap materials, flimsy plungers, left side mechanism failed within three days. But while it worked it produced good toast. Cuisinart used to mean quality. Not so much anymore.

I recently purchased this toaster after my previous toaster stopped working ( same toaster over 5 years old ) this new model is CRAP!!!! Does not toast evenly and feels like it is made cheap.

Good, but....
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good toaster, but it's hard to read the dials on the front. Also, there's no light that comes on when you plug it in (like their old model). The light only comes on when you drop the toaster lever.

Overall, our family loves this toaster
Love that it toasts 4 slices fairly consistently. We have used it every day for a year. Only downsides are the first few days it was offgassing a lot of chemical smell, but then it went away. So air it out first. And ours stopped heating well after a year, some issue with the coils. But Cuisinart replaced the unit for free.

So-so toasting quality
Nice looking toaster but the toasting is rather uneven. Overdone on the bottom of the slice and underdone at the top. The bagel setting blackened my bagel. Overall a disappointment.

It's a good toaster...
Bought this to replace an old 1970's toaster that finally gave out. I like the old timey look, but it doesn't work as good. Not all heaters heat up at the same time, so depending on what you're toasting you have a lot of trial and error to get it right. For me over all,I can work with it.
