Great Coffee Maker, Bad lid for pot.
I love the coffee pot and it makes great coffee. However, I dot like the lid for the pot. The lid will fall off so easy and you have to make sure you secure it ever time you poor from the pot. The lid does not snap well enough to stay on.

Poorly designed reservoir
Purchased this coffee maker in June, by October there was discoloration within the water reservoir. I’m unable to fit my hand in there to clean it and there are so many corners within the reservoir showing the cups that nothing gets every corner. I’m outside the return window so I’ll have to eat the cost. Huge bummer; not impressed and would not recommend this product.

Stick to electric shavers Braun.
The front of the coffee maker (above the coffee pot) gets covered in water during brew cycle and while coffee is heated due to the steam escaping from the pot during heating. The buttons and clock display are usually wet when brewing coffee. I can’t imagine that this is good for the circuitry over time. The buttons are easy to read when the coffee maker is in a well lit room, because they are not lighted, except for the power button. There is, however, small leds above most (not all) buttons like “brew” “auto on and off” and “clean” buttons in the giant black rectangle that I mistakenly thought was an LED display. Nope, it’s just a giant glossy black rectangle and the clock (which is also not lighted) is a laughably small 1/2 in x 1 1/4 in. Nearly impossible to read unless it is in a well lit room (early in the AM I tend to not turn on every light in my kitchen just to prepare coffee) The coffee temp is scorching hot (I love hot coffee but goodness sake). I believe this is due to the heat escaping up the front of the coffee maker (steam) so the heating element runs hotter to keep the coffee hot, leaving your first sip of lava hot coffee, nearly always regrettable and due to the overheating of the coffee by the time 2 hours rolls around you can taste it, obvious bitter/burnt taste. Also, this is one of the loudest coffee makers I have ever owned! Both during brew cycle and post-brew heating. Constantly popping and clicking for 2 hours and continues until the heating element is back to room-temperature. I do find the filter necessary IF you live in an area like the city where my water smells like chemicals. You can omit the filter if you have filtered water though. Finally, how are you supposed to legitimately clean the water resivoir?! It’s so awkward/narrow/tall I can’t fit my hand in and I’ve been searching for an appropriately sized extra long handled scrub brush ever since I bought it. If you are a coffee lover, I would NOT recommend this product. Braun made great electric shavers, that’s why I gave this product a chance. Obvious mistake.

Works well & looks good
I like Braun because it's a coffee maker company. I chose this one because it's the only one I could find in white, and it goes well with my kitchen (this is the second one I've bought). There are 2 things I don't like about it, though: once you put the water into the water container, there's no visible indication of the water level. The other thing--and all of the quality drip coffee makers are like this now--is that the entire lid has to open up in order to pour in the water. I liked the older models, where you just opened a small lid to pour it in.

Bad luck with purchase.
Sadly cannot program my new Braun. The LED does not work and I cannot program the auto on and off. I contacted customer service and am now awaiting call back to take care of my problem. The guys at Braun were very good about my trouble and I am confident in the resolution soon. I can use it for the time being without the program/Led feature.

Great product and great coffee
Makes a great hot cup of coffee and the ability to choose a smaller serving size (1-4 cups) is extremely useful for when I don't want to make a full pot for myself. The unit also has a nice clean look and fit in perfectly with the kitchen decor! The only negative I saw was that the time display on the coffee maker isn't backlit, making it extremely hard to read the time on the display as the numbers are black, and the display is dark brown, with no light. I tend to look at my stove though for the time, so it's not the end of the world.

Love It!
This coffee maker came highly recommended and indeed lives up to expectations at a reasonable price. The coffee is delicious, the sturdy machine is well designed with simple, easy-to-use-controls. I like the tilt on the buttons and that there are no sound effects when the coffee is ready or when the machine goes off after 2 hours. Easy access for cleaning and pouring in the water helps too. It's the best coffee maker I've ever owned.

Burnt
first cup is nice and hot, taste is ok. 2nd cup 1/2 hour later taste burnt. it is horrid. how do I tell my dh i hate it. i was a Christmas present. :(

White model is unique and looks great
Great looking machine in white. Easy to set time and auto on/off. Makes a good filter coffee with paper filters. I have only one concern hence four stars. The part of the lid on the carafe that attaches the lid to the carafe (a thin plastic hinge) is fragile and I suspect it will break. Weakest link. Other than that it’s a good overall machine, well made and great looking. Charcoal filter makes a clean fresh cup.

Did lots of research before buying this coffee maker. Could not have been more disappointed. The unit constantly displayed needing to be cleaned as each time it started up it sprayed grounds everywhere. Just as the warranty expired, error code appeared with no fix other than replacing the mother board which would have left us without a coffee maker for weeks and at the same cost as replacing it. Contacted customer service for help, sorry. Would not buy this unit never mind another Braun product again.

Feature List Needs an Update
This is our first Braun. It makes great coffee, but the LED time panel doesn't light. You would never know this from the feature list. It is impossible to see the time or to program functions easily under our cabinets. Illuminating the panel would be a minor expense item for Braun. Suggest strongly that they do so.

makes great coffee
I have had this coffee makers for two years now and it still looks new and still makes great coffee. I am so pleased with this. This is my first Braun maker and it is perfect. I always make 10 cups and the brew is perfect every time. I do not use any chemicals on it when I clean it, I just wipe it down with a damp paper towel everyday and it looks just like it did when I pulled it out of the box. I change the water filter regularly and run the vinegar through on schedule. I love it so much I bought a spare.
