KitchenAid 12-Cup Coffee Maker with Spiral Showerhead - Matte Gray - KCM1208DG: Programmable Drip, Permanent Filter

This coffee maker works great except when I open the lid a few tablespoons of hot water run down the sides and into the coffee basket. I have tried everything that Kitchenaid recommended, it didn't work and they won't repair or replace this coffee maker, because they said this is normal. I have had many Kitchenaid coffee makers and this is the first time I've had an issue that they won't take care of because the company is now owned by Whirlpool. Kitchenaid had awesome customer service, Whirlpool does not.

Every time we have brewed coffee we'd had issues. 1) the grinds explode our of the filter 2) the machine appears to be done brewing and when we remove the carafe it releases coffee everywhere I want to like this machine bc it's sleek design but regretting this purchase.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We had trouble with the tank draining and leaking onto the counter and subsequently down to our ceiling in the basement. KitchenAid service was going to send out a new tank for us but we haven't received it yet. It works good and makes good coffee, we just don't trust filling the tank overnight anymore.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We looked for a long time before we found this coffee pot and we're glad we took the extra time to research it. It is as close to perfect in design as they come. The water tank is very easy to remove & reinstall for filling. The fit is excellent as it slides back in place easily with a tight seal. The digital display is simplistic and easy to use. The feature of activation from t he front also for the brew/cancel cycle is great. Setting the automatic on cycle is easy compared to most other models we checked. The only issue that could be addressed is water leaks from the filter area top when opened to remove and discard the filter. We've adapted to having paper towels on hand to deal with this. A minor issue but perhaps the research people could look into this. Other than that, this is the first coffee maker that has impressed us to this level. Thanks Kitchen Aid and we don't hesitate to recommend this to everyone.

The carafe cracked after 6 months. This seems to be a common complaint. I am surprised Kichenaid allows their brand name on such a faulty product.

Do not buy. Coffee maker works but carafe uses very poor quality tempered glass and will crack on its own. Replacement carafes are very difficult to find. Would expect more from an appliance with the kitchenaid name.

I live in a rural area and our water comes from the ground. Unfortunately, that comes with challenges like hard water and mineral deposits. This was a great coffee pot, but we didn’t have it more than 6 months. Our hard water clogged and destroyed the coffee pot, even with weekly flushing and cleaning. The 4th star is for the super strong plastic smell the pot had out of the box. The smell permeated everything, including the coffee, for a month or so after it was opened. This was after multiple vinegar cleanings to try and get rid of the smell.

My coffee maker is still going strong. It’s been a wonderful purchase. I’m very happy with my coffee maker.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's beautiful, and works so well! Coffee is on-time, and hot! It's quiet, doesn't have an annoyingly loud 'I'm done brewing' beep. I love the appearance, it's just a nice design. Only flaw I can find, when you raise the lid over the grinds, there is always condensation which drips down from the lid to the area around the coffee filter area. That's it. I usually soak it up with a paper towel as I change the grounds. BTW, did you happen to notice how the fold-down handle on the water container matches the metal band on the coffeemaker providing a seamless continuation of industrial design? I did :) Nice! I particularly appreciate the digital display that shows the remaining time on the warming function, ensuring my coffee stays at the perfect temperature without any guesswork. A standout feature is the dual brew buttons, one on the front and another on the side. This thoughtful design allows for flexible placement under cabinets, making it convenient to operate the machine from different angles. Kudos to KitchenAid for this smart engineering!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sharp style & design. I ordered the matte grey...it's sharp. I like that I can use paper cone filter or gold filter. the WORST part of the design is the top lid to the coffee grounds. After the coffee has brewed and I am finished drinking & ready to clean up, when I lift the lid, water drips down either side of the lid. I have to quickly put a paper towel or hand towel to catch the water. Happens EVERY TIME. I've even waited until the PM to clean out the grounds but as soon as I lift the lid, the water pours/drips down each side. Annoying. I can't believe this wasn't identified during consumer testing. Otherwise I would have given 5 starts...but it loses 2 stars for this feature.

I loved this product until it came time to replace the water tank. The brewing time had exceeded what was normal and after thoroughly cleaning it (per instructions) I found a leak that was affecting the water flow. Trying not to replace the entire unit, I sought replacement parts to no avail. Sadly this makes me rethink my next purchase of a kitchenaid coffee machine- as for years, the company has always been a reliable brand. Not sure if I’ll replace my unit with a kitchenaid🤔
